Adventure: Lord Byron’s Economic Woes (DM: Tenchuu, Judge: H.M.Gimlord)

Hergunna-wolf charges around the corner, steering wide of the doorway. "There's another coming behind me," she growls as she shifts back to human shape.

She peers into the building and makes a "tsk" sound as she sees Stanng's crumpled form. She gestures casually, and a wicked blast of arctic wind races through the doorway, battering and chilling two of the kobolds and one of the drakes. They stagger about blindly under the force of the wind, and one kobold stumbles into the cloud of daggers while the other steps shrieking into the fire pit.

Hergunna grins. Easy does it, indeed... these spirits are eager to please, if you act like you don't much care... like cats, they are.

She looks over at Hergunna. "Child, I've lined 'em up for you like sausages on a stick. Let's see some fine wizardry now, right!"

Tessa nodded to Hergunna and lifted her orb, focusing her power through the implement. The air seemed to flex as the wizard pushed a blast of air inside the building. It whizzed over top of Stanng and and exploded out over the fireplace. A massive shock wave of force shot out from the firepit, but the three enemies in the zone braced themselves for the attack. A moment later, fire engulfed the middle of the room.

[/sblock][sblock=Stanng/Kane]You two still have actions in this round. Stanng, you need to spend one move action to get up. I'm not sure you could get out of the room this round if you wanted to. If you still in the room, unless there are a bunch of misses, You'll probably be knocked unconscious again next turn, so you might want to make this turn a good one. Or use second wind and hope to ride out the round. Last round, the second wind boost to defenses blocked an attack for Kane.[/sblock]

[sblock=Stanng] Actually he can use Shifter Regeneration since after my healing he should JUST be bloodied (just like last time). Majestic Word also slid him to K9 so the map isn't quite right.[/sblock]
 

Last turn's immediate action: I will use Battle Awareness to attack the Kobold who withdrew from me during combat (I'm not sure which one this is as the map is a bit confusing).
The kobold moved to retaliate against Stanng. Fighting through the cloud, which cut the beast again and drew blood, the kobold landed a hit, drawing blood on Stanng as well. The kobold spit at Stanng's feet in a defiant gesture and retreated.
If the above is incorrect then don't worry about this attack and skip it.

Kane looks around, his breath recovered, enemies all around him and his allies in a difficult spot. The shifter is barely standing, Wil is covered in blood, mostly his own, Kane looks down at the wounds that the cowardly kobolds caused on him. His beady, yellow eyes narrow as the bugbear looks to the nearest foe, the kobold not caught in the explosion of fire, and begins stalking towards him. Kane brings up his bastard sword and with a roar of primal strength, the barbarian brings the blade down in a vicious overhand chop, the blade driving deep into the reptiles brain.

The sight of the tremendous blow spurs Kane and he launches pulls the sword out, spinning behind and catching the other kobold behind him with the blade, nearly felling that enemy. The bloodlust is in full now and Kane's eyes have gone completely red with the drive. He spins through his foes, a tornado of blades as he goes right into the fire, heedless of the heat. His axe sweeps out and draws a minor slash on the kobold with the spear, who's also stuck in the fire.

Calling on every reserve ounce of energy in his body, Kane then slashes, stabs, and swings at all enemies within his reach. The blood fills the air and covers the bugbear, turning his brown fur deep crimson. The kobolds drop to the barbarian's unbridled fury and the drake is left deeply wounded. There still is energy left in Kane as he then dances through the flames to end up next to the kobold with the magic. The sudden appearance of the bugbear surprises the kobold and leaves him open to Kane's eventual attack. The barbarian's eyes gleam with anticipation as he has the tiny foe right where he wants him.

Wil pumps his hand in the air as Kane whirls into action. WOOOO!

Kane carves through the enemies in barbarian rage, dropping two of the creatures in the process, and nearly killing the leader.

The enemies move to counter, and Tessa's flames burn again, melting the wyrmpriest into a charred, bloody hump. Without a leader, the remaining Dragonshield was frantic, and the drakes attacked without coordination.

The dragonshield moved around the fire, but was blocked by Kane. It stabbed it's sword defensively, but it did no damage. Trembling with fear, it stepped back toward the corner.

The Drake near Kane attacked from the other side, and it's sharp teeth drew blood. The Drake hissed, and then moved back toward Stanng

The Drake near the door bit back at Stanng, but the shifter easily deflected the attack. The creature stood its ground after being rebuffed.

Outside, the Slinger darted out and fired again. It fired another bullet at Tessa, who saw the slinger and quickly ducked, avoiding the shot. This slinger snarled before creeping back behind the concealment of the center building.

A second Kobold slinger emerged from the western building. It pulled back and let a bullet fly at Hergunna, but the projectile glanced off Hergunna without damaging the woman. The creature glared before ducking back into the building.

And then a third slinger emerged, moving out into the open. It fired at Wil, and the bullet hit its mark. "Yessss," it hissed in triumph, doing a little dance. "Come on! You heard the leader; we mussst catch the humansss."

On the beckon of the third, a fourth slinger emerged from the building. It fired a slug at hergunna, but the bullet sailed high. The creature looked uncertain, and moved back into the building.

The third slinger barked, "Itssss only three humanss! Why hide?"

1. Kane killed a bunch. 2 drakes and 1 kobold are alive in the central building.
2. One slinger is hiding behind the wall of the central building, hidden by the line of sight shadow.
3. three slingers emerged from the doorway of the northwest building. One is out in the open, and two more darted back into the building.
4. There is at least one more enemy out there, the skirmisher that hergunna left.

The Healing from Wil brings Stanng back up to 13, which is no longer bloodied. I'm too lazy to retcon, so I'll allow the long tooth shifting power to stand, but Stanng gains no additional health (because he is not bloodied).

Also, Battle Awareness attack was valid, but a miss (AC 18).
[/sblock][sblock=Map/movement]You can still move outside the range I am zoomed to on the map. Ex., Tessa could move straight west to L1 if she wanted to. I've just zoomed in to make it easier to read the map.

Also, keep in mind, as you move, you may make map areas more visible, and there may be other obsticles there.

If you move adjacent to the dragonshield, it will use Dragon Tactics to immediation action shift to H15.

Please include this information in your post. I trust you'll do the right thing and post the action. Doing it this way, I don't have to spend time on a retcon.
