Adventure: Lord Byron’s Economic Woes (DM: Tenchuu, Judge: H.M.Gimlord)

[sblock=OOC]I like your ideas. As I look at the remaining NPCs and your combat options, it's clear that you need to rely on your creativity to make it through this round. I would also encourage you to think about what skills you have and what is known about kobold behavior that might help.

Walls: You could break one down, but it would be loud.

Bed: Seems perfectly reasonable that you could upend it and use it for cover.

Waiting: If you waited for them, and they in turn were waiting for you, it could create a pseudo short rest, where you would not regain encounters, but you could use HS.

Wil sighs and make a halfhearted shot at the remaining dragonshield, missing the beast. Perhaps spells can catch them cowering while the others sneak around.

[sblock=OOC] Lost a longer cooler post, Jinx Shot for Standard 1d20+7=16 miss.
Free action: Strategize - I think that if you burst just before the door or building corner, you will catch them since they can only shift 1 square as a minor action. I would move to O9, but with a 5 movement I would be caught in the open (unless these buildings have rounded corners so I can move diagonally?

[sblock=ooc]The power is a blast not a burst... but maybe that will work anyway? Like say if the corner of the blast were at G7, would that go into the doorway?

Thorn Strike won't do a ton of damage, but it lowers defenses, so it would be most effective if others will be able to follow up with their own attacks.

I guess another thing we could do is display the leader's body since that seems to have freaked out the surviving dragonshield so much. (And we should probably finish him before we venture out... too bad Wil's shot missed.)[/sblock]

Kane looks around and sees no more enemies directly around him, only the kobold in the corner. His bloodlust satiated for a moment, the bugbear grabs the dead spellcaster, holding it up in front of him. The barbarian dangles the small creature in front of him and shakes it around like a ragdoll as he speaks.

"YOU WANT TO END UP LIKE HIM? IF NOT, THROW DOWN YOUR WEAPONS, NOW!" Kane roars, spittle flying from his mouth as he can barely contain his desire to crush the small foe.

Move: Pick up leader's body

[sblock=ooc]Good move, Kane!

So after reviewing the cover rules, I think Hergunna should have a good blast from H8 or even better from G8. Then follow up with Call of the Beast so if they shoot at her, they'll take damage. But I don't want to rush out there until others will be able to back her up. So maybe we should go with using the bed as cover? That will take a couple rounds to set up though...[/sblock]

The dragonshield looked from side to side, desperately trying to find an alternative exit, but there was none. With trembling hand, it threw it's sword down to the ground, but held tight to the shield.

"Let me leave," in asked, half begging, "I will go in peaccccce."

[sblock=ooc]I don't want to hold up the game with excess strategizing... how about we go with moving the bed, giving cover to Tessa and Wil for ranged attacking. I still think Kane and Stanng should try to get around the building to attack from the other side, either by running around the building or by knocking a hole in the wall, but that's up to them.

I'm not sure what actions to use, exactly, for moving the bed. Is there any way for Hergunna and Tessa to work together to get the bed positioned more quickly? Or if not, I'd be happy to just have Hergunna begin the process by moving to the bed, picking it up or dragging it, or what have you. Spending her whole round's worth of actions to make as much progress as possible.

And oh yeah, at some point someone (probably Kane) should be tossing that leader's body out there to try to rattle them a little bit. Maybe they'll forget to shoot at us for a round. ;)[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc more]Sorry, just one more idea... if we get the bed set up, while we hide behind it, Wil could try to delay them by pretending to negotiate with them to release their "captured" leader in return for letting us go. Giving time for others to circle around. And then of course we dramatically "release" the leader's corpse in their midst! :)[/sblock]

[sblock=strategy] Good plan about the couch and sneaking ryryguy. I say that after Tenchuu's answer, the remaining 3 PCs act. Stanng and Hergunna move the bed and Tessa readies an attack (or puts a cloud of daggers in their doorway) and takes cover.

Stanng will defer his vote. Stanng will keep an eye on the remaining kobold while the others move to attack. (sorry, posting in a rush. T, feel free to NPC me if I hold up the line. I'm working crazy hours right now.)
