The Commandant has done well to deflect the party's continued attacks, but she is clearly at the end of her rope. She struggles to hold her sword raised, and she wobbles as if she's about to topple over. But despite that, she isn't lacking for confidence.
"You - you can't win!" Vahl roughly wipes the sweat from her brow with her metal pauldron, almost knocking herself out in the process. "This sword grants me unlimited power. I have not yet begun to fight!"
Vahl strikes twice at her goliath opponent and hits both times. Once again, Eithal feels insidious shadows tearing at her mind and sapping her willpower. The archers, at the commandant's instruction, fire arrows into the supernatural black cloud. The arrows whiz narrowly past Beatrice's head.
At that moment, a loud clang from outside announces to the party that the iron gate at the castle's gatehouse has been slammed shut.

Note that wardens can only have one guardian form active at a time, so Vahl doesn't take damage for hitting Eithal anymore.
