AtG Howling Crag (5e PBP) OOC

It can be a visible or invisible Spector who helps or hinders people. Perhaps certain souls get a chance of redemption or have made similar but lesser promises to the Sheriff that Doc has made and must pay those debts. You are the Sheriff’s middle man who gets to choose how those debts are paid.

Thank you, but I was unclear- I am not hung up on the description. I am literally at a loss as to the use, given that this is definitely not something I ever use mechanically, and I have a poor grasp for when and how it should be used ... and I gather it's kind of a good ability.

Hey, everyone, I have a big post coming. I might break it into two separate posts. Probably the last of the 'here's how Donnell has changed' character posts.

Oh. I haven't used it much since I don't often play...deputies. In combat and when you predict skills rolls happening. Dungeon crawling because there's lots of skill checks for traps. Before important social encounters.

I'm not sure how obvious it is. Like, in an important negotiation, would it seem awkward? I dunno.

@Kobold Stew I misunderstood about the TH. I thought you were implying you could hit an extra creature which is why I suggested the horse. Donnell's horse is his paladin's mount so he could always "summon" another one. Although, narratively, he can't because he doesn't have magical powers. I was going to fluff it as the horse having weird powers or him healing the horse or whatever (depends when/if the horse dies). In any case, it doesn't NEED the TH.

For the record, Donnell will almost always want to take a careful approach. He’s naturally a sneaky type. I never wanted to start with letting the giants know we were there. From @Tonguez ’s last post, it sounded like he thought Donnell was advocating for walking up to the front door. I feel like there was a miscommunication IC about that which is why my last post is a lot of reiterating of what I’ve been suggesting so far.

I’m also finding it awkward (in character and out of character) that everyone is throwing the decisions back in Donnell’s lap. I guess, maybe, that is part of the dynamic of this chapter of the story but I also don’t want to ruin the dynamic you all had in the previous story.

Don't worry about a thing! I think that it's awesome that we are feeling out a new paradigm. After all, that's what creates tension, change, and growth. Seeing how characters' personalities change and adapt to new circumstances (and don't).

Two more things-

1. I will try to get a post up in IC today. I have been busy, but I need to focus for a minute and get it down. Quick version-
Doc will accompany a nighttime scouting mission (really good stealth, free movement, etc) but is open to anything at this point.

2. Reminder that I have one or at most two posts left for a while. @FitzTheRuke please use Doc to move the game along until I return.

@FitzTheRuke I was thinking about making a portrait for Donnell. Since he was originally your NPC and since you’re super handy generating portraits, would you be interested giving it a shot?
