Cleric spell question.

New here so sorry is this is in the wrong place.

I'm helping a player roll up a cleric. He has a 16 wisdom which allows him to have 3 spells plus 1 for his level for a total of 4. He also chose the life domain which grants him bless and cure wounds. Does this count towards the 4 he knows or does he have 6 total?

Those spells are automatically prepared and they are in addition to the 4 that you decide to prepare.

Also clerics (unlike wizards) don't have to learn spells....they just choose the ones they want from the list each day. So you can choose other spells on other days to prepare if you'd like (except for the domain spells...those are always prepared).
