Make it a +1d6 per spell level.+5 heal per spell level would say that you are a better healer.
Which will then maximize.
I feel it should just be regeneration of some kind. Life clerics should be innately harder to kill.and the 6th level ability is still horrible.
You need to heal your self, well just forget about your subclass feature.
Like each minute, you regain 1 HP. And you can fail 5 death saves before dying.
Now you have a solid chance of just standing back up.
Or some kind of "when you die, you can expend all remaining spell slots to not die."
