No. Players should be able to understand limitation to setting as well as a DM has to understand player desires. It's a two way street.Shouldn't this be "Players, what arbitrary restrictions are you willing to put up with?"
Yeah, several people have said something similar, but there is no option for it in the poll. To me it would be blatantly bizarre to care more about what book the thing was physically printed in rather than what the thing actually is!So I put homebrew only....but that's not actually true either. How about another selection... Ala Carte? I like things to be setting focused, just to add that bit of grit to the picture, so battle-mages wielding anime weapons and doing wire-fu doesn't quite mesh with a historical western campaign. Likewise, ninjas in black PJs roaming the surface of Mars doesn't work either, you know, unless it does. So honestly, it really does depend on the specific campaign style/type I'm running at any given moment. So all the answers could be correct or none of them.
