Do I need glasses?

Hi everybody (hi Dr. Nick!..)

A few people have suggested to me recently that I need glasses. I have been getting headaches (not bad, more just annoying) and rather bad, bloodshot eyes with a burning sensation in them. Everyone else in my family has glasses, except me. However, my vision seems to be fine.

Does this sound like i need glasses? I have an appointment with a doctor on Friday to see, but what do you all think? Anyone had a similar experience?

I know headaches can be caused by straining one's eyers to see. Bloodshot again while rarer can be a symptom. So, it could or it could be something else....

My initial thought was that it was an allergy to something, but I have not been in contact with anything (that I know of) recently that is any different from normal.

Too little information to tell. You could have eyestrain from looking at a computer monitor or tv too long, you could need glasses, you could have allergies.

Well, stand 15 away from a whiteboard or chalkboard. Can you read what's written on it? Can you read a book easily without moving your arm away?

If you get headaches after reading, I would almost say you have an astigmatism. I've worn glasses for years, but didn't have diagnosed until a few years ago.

Basically it means you have to spend more money on Toric contact lenses. :\

I think he just needs some support. In my mind eye doctors are the easiest to attend since there's almost no pain (sensitivity to light since your pupils would be dilated).
