I approve, now instead of buying FHM or Maxim "for the articles" I can buy this and perhaps actually be bothered to read the articles.

Doesn't seem like a "simple" excuse. I could come up with much more simple excuses.

A) Its an art book.
B) Its a fantasy porn book.

Okay I admit "B" isn't really an excuse but really do you need one?

I personally don't really care one way or the other, but I really really really didn't want to know so much about the authors/company members personal lives (did they really have to put all that info in the press release?).

I'm with those who don't really care one way or the other. Will I buy the BOEF? Not likely, since it doesn't sound like my thing. Do I object to the existence of such a book? No. There are tens of thousands of books published every year, on all sorts of subjects, that I have no interest in. Some of them are way more offensive (IMO, of course) than elf porn. Holocaust denial books being one example. Yet if someone wants to publish them, and others want to buy them, it's none of my business. A free press means free to everyone, period.

So I don't approve, nor do I disapprove. I wish you had an option in your poll for me. You could call it "Who cares?"

I voted approve, mainly because I don't find the proposed content offensive, and it does push the envelope of what is fantasy gaming material. I'm not sure if I would actually use it, but I might buy it just to see what they come up with.

What I find interesting is that the current approval rating is at approximately 70%. I was actually expecting the numbers to be a lot lower than that, especially among parents. The current number of parents that approve is about 2:1.

I will say this though, unlike the Dragon Magazine issues, I think everyone has good reason to weigh in on this one. Kudos to the community for keeping it civil despite the rather more extreme situation.

My view on this whole thing:

I think that sex is a bodily function, just like breathing or pissing or ting. But it's the emotional intimacy that develops between the two people that makes it special.

If someone could develop a sourcebook that deals with that emotional intimacy, I would love it. Actual rules that give bonuses or penalties based on your relationship with another (a +2 whenever your True Love is in danger, or a -2 when you are fighting against someone you love) would really help develop another aspect of gaming.

Personally, I don't care, and probably won't buy it. But otherwise, it doesn't bother me that it's being published.
