I’m not sure it does. Would WotC have given Larian access to the data to determine if it was popular?

Not to say that I think the wild magic Barbarian isn’t popular. I’m just not sure its inclusion in BG3 reliably indicates its popularity.
Well, it's inclusion in Tasha's mean it has, at minimum, the same satisfaction threshold the new PHB options need...and we don't really know how popular Tasha's options were, though WotC does.

Larian had WotC employees guiding them on rules constantly.
We know at the minimum that Mearls and Stewart were involved

My Guesses:

Barbarian: Berserker, Totem (I could see them renamed Wildheart), Storm Herald (needs a rework, and is a cool concept), and Wild Magic
Fighter: Champion, Battle Master, Eldritch Knight, Cavalier/something completely new
Wizard: Evoker, Illusionist, Necromancer, Abjurer
Warlock: Fiend, Archfey, Great Old One, Genie or Vestiges (I've always liked this concept and it fits the warlock well).
Sorcerer: Draconic, Wild Magic, Storm, Shadow

I would actually hope that WotC kept the Necromancer in their back pocket for a later release. I don’t think that the 2014 Necromancer makes for an interesting one and I would rather they took more time to polish it so it was a better fit for what many people are looking for in a Necro. 🤷‍♂️

Swap abjuration for divination and I agree with this.

Yeah, if I had my druthers, the four would be Bladesinger, War Mage, Order of Scribes, and either make School Specialist the fourth subclass, or make school specialization a core class feature like how clerics and druids get to pick an Order, and make a new fourth subclass, maybe like a Summoner or something.

I think you've nailed it here. I think Subclass and School Specialization should be two different things.
