How many sneak attacks?

Hi Everyone,

Quick and easy question for all of you knowledgable gamers:

If I have the Two Weapon Fighting feat as a 5th level rogue, and attack a creature where I would get sneak attack damage, would I roll sneak attack for both weapons or just once?

Thanks! :)

For every attack during that surprise round.

Disregard that. You only have one attack in a surprise round (everyone gets only a standard action or a move action).

But MP meant the right thing: Whenever your enemy is flanked or denied his AC-bonus, you get to sneak attack him. So a Rogue 20 with the TWF feat chain and haste will get 7 sneak attacks against a flanked foe or if he's improved invisible - 3 primary, 3 off-hand, and one haste.

Of course, you might not be able to maintain the surprise effect: If you're just hidden or have normal invisibility, he'll see you after the first attack. But there's no hard limit for the number of sneak attacks.

Are you sure the sneaky rogue wouldn't get any and all attacks as sneak attacks after being hidden? At least for one round?

Source or example of your reason, if sure?

The rogue COULD still make any and all attacks as sneak attacks provided he has a way of denying his foe it's dex bonus or by flanking his foe.

If you're looking for a 100% clear rule, you're SOL.

There is nothing in the rules that is absolutely 100% clear on this, but the hide (and normal invisibility) rules imply strongly that if you attack while hidden (or invisible), your stealth ends. Most DMs rule that your stealth ends upon the first attack in a full attack.

Guess I'm SOL.

As I read the rules, rogues could get their full attack after a sucessful hide/invisibility. I'd be happy to change my mind if someone could site a passage.

From the SRD:
Sneak Attack: If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.
The rogue’s attack deals extra damage any time her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target.

So, the rogue could get all of her attacks as sneak attacks provided the defender is denied their dex bonus. This could happen from a successful feint, being flat-footed because the defender has not had his first action due to a low initiative roll, or because the rogue is invisible or hidden. Now, once the hidden or invisible rogue attacks, she becomes visible to the defender. However, while the defender is still denied his dex bonus, the rogue is making all attacks as sneak attacks. Visible or not.
