(IC) DND 3.5 Enter Planescape

Wawaate first checks both paths for the continued markers. He views the two paths as different tests. The first is one of trust, trust that the Winter will hold the lake firm to cross. The second is one of patience, wondering if he believes he will be able to successfully navigate his own way.

With that in mind, he chooses the lake path.

Bimble
With a sigh of his breath the elder lets slip the secret that is haunting him,
"I overheard the Arch Druid Zealously speaking about your circumstance, in context he had this rivalry with your father decades ago when they were young druids. When he was elected the Arch Druid of the circle we all thought it was over, yet he wouldn't allow it to be over.".
The elder looks as though a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. Yet there is more as he prepares himself for the second half of what he has to say.
"You've been cheated a chance to perform the rites of the circle. That Acorn you have is petrified, you'll have to find another from the great oak in the ruins deep in the grove."
OOC: Cool! ;-)
Sense motive: 3 Maybe the elder is the one that had a rivalry!

Bimble takes the elder at his word. He fetches the acorn from his pocket and looks at it. He feels a mix of anger and relief. Hesitating, he tells the older druid: "Thank you elder, I'll go and fetch a new one". As he moves, his loyal dog instinctively stands up, towering over the gnomes. Bimble grabs his fur, jumps up, and rides toward the grove

Luke Cinder:

It's curious, but you've been summoned to faction headquarters. It's a gray and cold morning, with a miserable drizzle falling. Inside you get sent to see Bendon Mawl, a high-up man who's next to the factol. Bendon's a sharp cutter who made his name as a hirespell in the Outlands before coming to Sigil. A tiefling with coal-black eyes and pointed ears, he has a bit of the fiend in him, but you know - or at least you think you know — he's a trusty blood. Bendon shows you into his chambers and shuts the door.
"Here's the chant," he begins. "There’s this Cony-Catcher settin up kip at the crooked sword. He doesn’t know it but he’s got the dark of something we want. He’s offering some jink to any Cony he can, that dark is the key for a portal. Can you go have a lookabout for him? You’ll be cut in on the profits.”

“Understood. I’ll see this cony-catcher and get what he’s sitting on. "
Short pause before Luke continues
"If the dark he’s holding is important enough for your office to send me, I’d like to know what sort of portal we’re dealing with - and who might be waiting on the other side. I’ll keep things hush and report the moment I have something solid.”

Mr. Pink grabs out a Crowbar and shimmies it in the top of the eye socket, he then looks at your alarm as he has it in place.
"Well what do you see?"

"Can we pull it or what? I'm not trying to get cursed here."
He looks around at his his surroundings, getting a feel for the auras. No magic. Do curses even radiate as magical? He’s not sure. He looks up at the ominous statue with a feeling of trepidation.

“You’re all good, Mr. Pink! No magic here...
