[Prickly Pear]

Chrysagon looked up where Harb and Dellrak were pointing. Nets, he thought, that's no good. Chrysagon grabbed his dagger in one hand and a javelin in the other. As the the gargoyles approached, he readied himself to throw the javelin at the first that came close.

Action: Ready, throw javelin when a gargoyle is within 30'. Javelin attack and damage: 1D20+5 = [3]+5 = 8. Miss!

The Sticks

As the gargoyles flew in, Qawasha and Weed moved behind Chrysagon for protection. The Kelemvorite waited with his javelin for the creatures to near, as Dellrak cast a protective spell, cursing that he could not extend its effects to his friends.

Harb and Imogen fired their bows, with Harb's weaker pull coming up short. Imogen's, however, struck one of the stone creatures in the chest in what would have been a killing blow, had it been a creature with a heart.

Myrall tucked himself into a crack in the road that had missing stones, while leaving an illusion of himself behind.

As the gargoyles flew closer, Chrysagon threw his javelin, but the group of three creatures suddenly dispersed, and his javelin went between them, disappearing into the underbrush far below. The gargoyles went in all different directions - one went up and over them, another went down into the brush while the third disappeared under the edge of the raised road.

This peculiar behaviour did not suggest that they would leave the Sticks alone. They seemed to be toying with them while working their way into an attacking position.

Harb missed his shots, but he watched where Miss Imogen's shot struck and followed that creature's path until it disappeared over the ledge of the walkway. Seeing an opportunity, Harb moved to the ledge and fired another two arrows directly down upon the creature.

As Miss Imogen watches her arrow hit, she is proud of her shot which flew clean and true. Harb began pursuing the creature she had hit, so she turns to the one approaching them at speed. OOC: Move: 5'North (to establish line of sight). Attack: Gargoyle 3 (o15), with Sharpshooter (ignore cover). 1d20+4=14. If a hit, damage = 1d8+14=16 piercing. Hit points: 38/38+5 THP. Chrysagon saw in disbelief his javelin sail pass the gargoyle as they dispersed. He shrugged and grabbed his flail instead. Let them come to me, he thought and to Qawasha and Weed he said: Stay close, and keep an eye on the gargoyle at my back. I will give you protection.
Chrysagon took up a defensive position as he watched where the other two gargoyles went.

Action: Dodge No! Chrysagon sheathed his dagger and equipped his shield. He can't just run around with a dagger in one hand and a flail in the other. What was he thinking???

"You're so thick you couldn't even hit the road on the first pass!"

Tabaxi shaman capers in the middle of the road pointing at the back of one of the gargoyles.

As Chrysagon readied his shield in preparation of defending the guides, Qawasha raised his gnarled walking stick and chanted. A large patch of overgrowth twisted and reached up, catching a gargoyle out of the air and wrapping him tightly. Weed was quick to follow his friend's lead, and he slung stones at the gargoyle as it struggled to free itself. Strong, and made of stone, it eventually tore through the grasping vines and flew toward them, but Myrral capered about on the road, getting its attention with mockery. It landed on the road in front of the Tabaxi and loomed over him.

Harb, Imogen, and Dellrak turned their bows on another Gargoyle, who made it difficult for them by flying low below the edge of the road. Harb and Dellrak moved up to the edge to track it, and it suddenly popped up, clinging to the edge. It grabbed at Harb's legs, scratching him, and tried to pull him off.

Another gargoyle, that had flown past the group, circled back and dipped over the road, trying to catch Imogen in its net. She ducked under, but it raked her back with its foot claws as it flew past.
