OOC: So, I don't think I hit once this fight! I should have Word of radiance, at least there would be a chance to hit SOMEONE

Vairar reels under accumulated wounds. His comrades are coming. And even the lord appears behind the big orc...but...he was in the middle!!
The priest thrusts forward hastily trying to keep the blades focus even if one more attack could likely finish him. But the strain proves too much and while the pike plinks into opponents armor, Vairars hands just slide along the shaft on the bloody spear haft. The point remains on the enemy for the moment and Vairars grip is shortened.

He adjusts quickly, but the opportunity to finish this is lost.

Legend
Down behind the cliff, Tommi had just narrowly avoided being stabbed by the one-eyed orc's spear. He gritted his teeth and wondered where ORB5 had gone. But there was Morwen, Titus' flying cat, and it pounced out of the air onto the back of the orc's head. Tommi lunged, and Gutter got its name, as Tommi slashed the orc across the abdomen, spilling his insides onto the rocky floodplain.

ORB5 buzzed across the river and flew over Escella's shoulder as she ran. She didn't know much about the little brass orb, but she knew it would help her. She came through some trees to see the fleeing orc crossing a light clearing, heading south-west.

Back on the steep hill, things were not going quite as well for the others. Dandin stabbed at an orc, who kicked his sword away, but the halfling had distracted the brute long enough for Titus to slay him. The halfling patted his new pet's haunch while the nobleman moved away, loading his hand crossbow.

The bear lunged forward, catching an orc by the leg with its jaws. The orc roared out, but was determined to live, and buried his axe into the bear's back, a powerful blow that caused the bear to stumble, letting the orc free.

Angis moved forward, swinging his axe furiously at the sword-wielding orc. So furious was the dwarf's attacks, that he saved Vairar, who was on his last legs, with his grip loose on his bloody pike.

Sir Darfin had been content to hang back, mostly observing his new allies so as not to step on any toes. However, he did not want to see any of his people die, so he ordered his guards (who were becoming overwhelmed) to retreat to the trees and walked between worlds, arriving again in the midst of the battle. He stepped out and managed to scratch the sword-wielding orc with his blade, but the orc was very quick and managed to parry his second thrust.

The sword-wielding orc barked out to nearby orcs, and they began a furious assault. One turned from the injured bear to swing wild axe-blows at Angis, while another came at Sir Darfin (receiving a burst of ice shards that tore up his face from the elf's protective magic). The one up on the rock threw two javelins down at the elf lord, grazing him with one while he parried another. The battle was more dire than anyone had hoped.

No more time for fooling around. I don't want to run into a scouting party, Escella thinks. She hurls a chaos bolt at the fleeing orc. She runs up to his position as he stumbles and falls to the ground. He sputters his last breath as she arrives. (AS63)

Tommi glories for a moment as the orc's blood splatters onto him, surprised at his own delight. He lets out a howl -- "Ooooooh" -- and then runs around to where his colleagues are fighting, making his way up the beginning of the slope. As he runs, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out three stones. He blows into them, loads one into the sling hanging from his wrist, and whips it at the orc fighting Darfin.

Ol' sooty was looking bad now, and Dandin felt bad for putting him at risk. So he called the bear back, hoping to get him safely out of harm's way.

Once the way was clear, he stepped forward, eyeing the orc who'd dealt that last blow. "Bet you think you're tough! Well now you're up against lil' ol' me! HAH!!! Give me your best shot!"

Handle Animal: 1d20+4 15 Ordering Ol' sooty to disengage, preferably back up to the trees as well.

Meanwhile, Dandin will step in to back up the line. And if not wasting his action on handling Ol' Sooty will use Viscious Mockery (DC 13): 1d4 4

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
Lord looks at the orcs around him, his shield flickering.
"You will rue the day you attacked my lands."

With that, he slashes across the big orc, but he recognized the true threat and was ready. Steel rings on steel as warblade parries the first attack. Overconfident lord parries his own second attack with deflected blade almost losing both in the process.

Barely standing himself, surrounded by elves, orc blademaster laughs aloud.
