Angis & Lionel

As Angis stomped forward, Lionel limped along behind him. The goblins scattered before them, retreating toward their boat. All but the newly self-appointed boss hobgoblin - that foul creature stepped in the way of Angis' advance and the two of them clashed their axes together. They struggled, and Angis swung his off-hand axe into the hobgoblin's shoulder.

The hobgoblin roared, let go of his battle-axe with one hand, and slammed Angis in the nose with a gauntleted fist. As the dwarf fell backward to the ground, Lionel slipped out from behind him and plunged his little dagger into the hobgoblin's belly. The creature sneered, raising his axe, and Lionel thought, "That's it, I'm dead!"

Lionel reflexively ducked, squinting his eyes, and pulled his dagger free of the hobgoblin. Suddenly the axe fell from the hobgoblins hands, it's eyes rolled, and it fell to the ground. Lionel found himself holding a bloody dagger with two combatants lying around him.

His shield still up, Drui glances at the battlefield, trying to obtain a clearer idea of the relative positions of his allies and enemies. Seeing his dwarven fellowman fallen and other companions at risk, Drui takes a second to consider his options. Still, his mind has no longer hold of him, as his heart pounds in concern for brave men that might perish. His body moves on his own as he dashes towards Angis, yelling to Enseth an incomprehensible "hold the front" as he mentally prays they'll survive the encounter.

[OOC - Dashing straight to Angis and Lionel. If there are enemies around, he jumps at him - or them - trying to protect Lionel and Angis. If not, he'll help Angis with stabilize or, if possible, his healing skill.]

Drui

Drui ran to his fellow dwarf's side and was relieved to find that Angis was alive; just knocked senseless by the blow.

Behind him, between the cottages, a goblin cracked one of the crewmen on his head with the butt of his fiendish-looking sword. (The goblin had had to climb on a water-barrel and leap to reach the man's height.) The crewman's mate threw a rock at the goblin, and was shot by another goblin hiding in the shadows between the cottages. A little arrow stuck out of the man's abdomen, and he cried out in pain, catching Drui's attention.

The hobgoblin archer is proving to be a nuisance to Tommi, and truth be told, the lad is scared. If he had a blade of some kind, Tommi would likely charge the archer, to take away the advantage of the bow. But he doesn't, and so the rest of that plan remains only in potential. The hobgoblin is also just out of Tommi's effective range. So let' do something about that, he thinks to himself.

In the shadows, crouching low, Tommi runs along the sands towards his opponent. His sling is loaded and he lets fly a bullet, and then chases it. This will work out well, he assumes.

OOC: Move 10', fire, move 20', directly east. That puts him 10' away from the hobgoblin archer (frustratingly not right next to him).

To hit with magic stone: [roll0] (stones left: 1). If a hit, damage = [roll1] (no sneak attack, since no advantage or opponent).

HP: 7. AC 14.

Dandin

Dandin thrust his rapier into the belly of the goblin and it fell to the ground, gurgling. Suddenly from behind it, another goblin leaped at him. Surprised, but quick on his feet, Dandin danced to the side just in time, and the frustrated goblin ran away, chattering to another goblin between the building who had just knocked out one of the rivermen.

Enseth raised his arm while his Battlefist turned into an metalic hand, palm standing up toward the Hobgoblin who has take the leadership.
"Due north by horizontal bearing. Distance by velocity of light: thirty feet... Fire"

A flash of light appeared in Enseth's hand and streaked toward the Hobgoblin.
But the hobgoblin dodged it and the light beam disappeared in the darkness.

Tommi

Tommi's stone banged into the hobgoblin, denting it's armour and cracking a rib. The hobgoblin gritted it's teeth, nocked another arrow, and fired it at the young man as he ran toward the vile creature. The nearly three-foot shaft plunged into Tommi's ribs, deflating a lung. Tommi fell to the ground gasping, unable to breathe. His vision swam before him as he looked up at the night sky.

"Maybe this wasn't such a great idea." he thought to himself as he slipped into unconsciousness.

The hobgoblin grunted and walked back toward the raider's boat, disappointed that he would not be able to kill more of these people. But his discipline was strong, and a sensible retreat had been ordered. Maybe he could shoot a few of them as the boat pulled away...
