First Post
Sayid working for the CIA to find his love- cool

Make-up job on Jack is great- he looked undead

I liked the foreshadowing with Locke- "Storm Comin'"

Shannon show just how shallow she is. I wouldn't mind if she was the next to go

"Dude, that's all I got". Hurley still rocks.

Most people's speculation on who destroyed the transmitter was right- Locke did it. Did he do it for the reason he stated or because he didn't want tobe found?

I think the writing for Sawyer is awesome- Calling Charlie "Chucky", "I liked it a lot better when it was on the inside than on the outside". I loved Sawyer's voice being comforting to Turnip Head. :D

Jack not helping Locke. Pretty cold. I think it shows the amount of power Jack really has on the island.

I really liked the depth of Sayid's story. His friend killing himself in front of him was harsh. Also liked the twist on his flight.

What twist on the flight? I must have missed that.

It was a good epsiode, great writing and good build up leading into the end of the season.

????????

Showing real grief over the death of her step-brother proves she's shallow, somehow? I was pelased to see that she cared so much ...

No, not by showing grief. By attempting to exact revenge. Her inability to attempt to understand or forgive.

I loved the interplay between Locke and Sayid. I think of all the survivors, Sayid is perhaps the only one on par with Locke as far as perception and intuitiveness goes. In D&D terms I'd say it's Wisdom. :) Sure, Sayid may not be as smart as Jack or adaptive as Kate or charismatic as Sawyer, but he definitely knows how to play the game. Stroke and counterstroke between the two could be almost felt - Sayid spots the gun, Locke claims trust by giving it, Sayid counters with the fact that he was caught, and Locke trumps him by revealing he hit Sayid. Locke lies about the hatch, Sayid saves his life, Locke tries to feign ignorance and Sayid makes it clear that he could have let Shannon kill him, establishing trust, leading to the hatch. Finally, did Locke set this whole thing up to gain Sayid (as he said to Boone that they needed)?

It's an interesting counterpoint that Locke tries to establish trust by revealing his violent act, whereas Sayid establishes trust by preventing a violent act. If the survivors do split into two groups, as suggested by numerous lines in the show, I have no doubts that Sayid and Locke will be on opposite sides.

I wasn't too thrilled with Sayid's backstory on this one, though it does explain why he was in Sydney.

Could the body Jack had found way back when been Imam's? We now can assume pretty safely that Jack's dad wasn't the only dead body on the plane.

Am I the only one getting a bad feeling about the raft? I thought I recalled Michael saying there would be room for four, and there is going to be a transceiver from Sayid. Right now it seems like the four will be Michael, Walt, Jin, and Sawyer. Walt asking about death seemed a bit heavy handed to me, as far as foreshadowing goes. Maybe that's the intent though, throw people off track.

Jin's learning to speak a little English! Admittedly, only "good" and "no", but still.

Boone was, even in death, right about Shannon. He did warn Sayid that Shannon would try and use him and dump him when he wasn't useful... and look what happened. Sure, there were severe circumstances, definitely, but even so I'm not so sure that Boone was wrong about her.

It bothers me that we see a death scene for Boone, but there have been no other funerals for anyone else we've seen die. On an island with so few people on it, I think every death would be a difficult thing.

What happened to Kate/Sawyer? I mean, it's obvious Kate/Jack means more. In another counterpoint between castaways, Sawyer gets Kate to recall her past, and Jack tells her to forget it. Still, it seemed rather like they forgot about it. Which is okay, it felt too forced anyway.

Next week is all about Freckles, it seems. And will we see more of the hatch? That's at least Sayid, Kate, and Jack that know about it now. And will Hurley ever get to see it?

Nice little ep. I like Sayid eps. Or maybe I just like characters with high sense motives.

So, looks like we've got more people wanting to open pandora's box next week. Is it still hope inside, or something else?
