Question for U_K/others?

Do you read the Omnispective Omnific Ability to counter Undimensional in whole or in part? I'm curious as I think Undimensional could be argued as the best (by a wide margin)defensive power in the game if there isn't a counter.

But for a god a of war, what suggestions do you have for a supersoldier template?
Ive been trying to find one that is science based.

I'm looking for something on par with an amidah that involves either nanotechnology or genetics or both. Preferably something that doesnt allow wish at will.

Dante, I know this isn't directed at me but I'm trying to get a handle on what you really have in mind.

If you're going for something a la Captain America then I believe physical ability bonuses should be on the order of +10 per ability. Cap is about 4 times as strong as the average man and +10 should hit that on the nose. It is also clear that the Super Soldier Serum has boosted his reflexes and stamina as well, hence +10 applied to each of the physical attributes.

Cap is also well above average in terms of Wisdom and Charisma as well and arguably Intelligence. Whether this is due to the Serum is highly questionable though as part of the reason for his selection into the program was his "intangibles" if you will. Nevertheless one could argue that the serum would boost Charisma simply due to physique enhancements and that intelligence might be boosted due to a superior ability to break down proteins, etc.

Despite all of this what really defines Captain America is his ability to lead, judgment, skill, and character. Marvel history is littered with examples of Cap holding his own and defeating with far more powerful beings. Thus, it's not so much the Serum as it is some other things.

I also would suggest to you that the Amidah template is FAR too powerful for any "mass produced" thing originating from human or even Divine science. Whether Siderals and the like could do this I'm not sure but I would have to think that whomever made this things would have a way to keep them in check lest they run amok.

Hey dante mate! :)

I might still have what you are looking for...

So then, excellent for nearly any campaign, but not quite what Im looking for. Your idea kinda reminds me of Angels. The big mech-like ones from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Very awesome, I've been needing something like that for a while to.

Well, what you are looking for sounds like the Gods vs. Modern section of Chronicle, I have templates for DNA resequencing, cloning and steroid boosts. As well as the armour, melee and missile weapons for soldiers throughout the ages (up to the end of time).

ACK

Just noticed Krusty gave me the answer I was looking for.

Egad...I am stupid.

When does this terror come out? Or rather, when are you do to begin work on it?

You say you have templates...are they in the back of brain in a file somewhere, or could you snag one up for me? :) :p I'm terrible, but I love science fiction.

Just preordered my print version of the Epic Bestiary, cant wait to actually flip through the pages...mmm...warm ink, fresh paper right off the printing press.

Looking at the schedule I am in the process of drawing up with Mongoose, it would seem that you'll only have to wait until October 2008 for that particular release.

I have them written down in one of my many notebooks. They are not typed up yet.

I'm sorry but I can't open up the Pandora's Box that is 'personal requests' (at least of stuff likely to be included in a book at a later time).

I appreciate the love dude. There is some new material (new artifacts and so forth) in the print version, but its not a tactic I want to sell it on. If you have the pdf you have 99.9% of whats in the print version.

I'm looking forward to getting a hard copy myself. :D

I imagine there will be lots of things, upon reflection, I wished I had done differently with the book. But I am sure the relief and satisfaction of finally getting it done will far outweigh any regrets.

You can always slip in a line about checking out your website for additional content.

I think putting the neutronium armor/weapon rules into PDF format and calling it a web enhancement would be cool.

Agreed on both counts! These are both excellent suggestions. Print customers these days nearly always appreciate extra web content, as long as it's not something that the book itself really should have had like an index or a missing chapter.

So, are they contracting you for the work, or is it pay-on-completion? I'd like to see you on a paid schedule... it might serve as good incentive to be timely with the product. :P

Hey guys! :)

The contents page and the back cover of the Bestiary have a note that there is supplemental material on the website.

Its contracted but I get paid based on the profits.

Contrary to all the evidence weighed against me, I never actually miss a date someone else has set (or has been agreed upon by someone paying the wages). I only miss them when I set them. ;)
