NG vs. NE: Neutral Evil is Victorious!

Round 301: Otto travels to 80N80E, enough to see Sticky within range, but still partially inside the cloud.

Slightly afraid, Otto misses (rolled 31-2).

Round 302: Otto does not dodge the acid (rolled 23-2) and takes 25. He has 218 hp left, but is not nauseous (39-2 Fort save).

Sticky:[sblock]You can breathe again in round 305.[/sblock]

Otto takes an AoO as Sticky leaves and hits (rolled 40-2) for 37-15. Sticky has 127 hp.

Otto's turn in round 302.

Otto leaps into the water at 100n95e and sinks, transforming into his natural form as he does so if Sticky isn't in sticking range.

(i.e. MEA jump in, Std: change out of Landform if Sticky isn't in range, otherwise stick 'em)

The web over there is centered at 110N80E-10Z, with a twenty foot radius. If Otto wants to avoid the web completely, he will have to jump in at 100N100E. Sinking would get Otto to 100N100E-30Z, so he can see Sticky at 100N85E-40Z, and stick him with no webs in the way. For future rounds, Otto will have to go down to -45Z to get under the center of this web.

After the attempted sticking, Sticky will swim away from Otto, provoking an AoO, and end up at 100N0E-5Z, squeezing between the wall and the web at 110N25E-5Z.

Gotcha. I must have misrecorded the center of the webs on my map, or a 'W' got overwritten by the later fights or something.

Round 302: Otto hits (rolled 32-2) for 30-15 damage. Sticky has 112 hp.

Round 303: Otto takes 12 acid damage and has 206 hp.

Otto takes an AoO and hits (rolled 36-2) for 31-15. Sticky has 96 hp left.

Otto's turn in round 303.

Otto tranforms back to his natural form (presumably sinking to -60z while doing so), and then swims to 100n20e-60z hunting for the rascawy dwagon.

"My, that giant is fast."

Sticky comes up five feet, unsqueezes, then swims on top of the water (?) to 95N40E. If swimming on top of the water without touching the webs seems kind of stupid, Sticky can still get to the same place by being two-thirds on land. These will take a move action, followed by deeper darkness centered at 100N40E.

If the second move is still too stupid, Sticky can come completely out on land and get to the same place, but not be able to use the SLA.

Interesting question. I wonder if there should be some assumption like that a swimmer's body is (at most) half above and half below the waterline. I think that part would make sense, and probably the odd 5ft of the half should be below at that.

Getting 2/3rds on land would make sense if it was a gentle slope into water, but in our case I think you'd have to squeeze to stay on the land.

Anyway, GMs call as always. I skimmed the Rules of the Game on movement, but didn't see anything on these two specifics.

I've been allowing the snake-like body to float on the surface, but I think it is becoming problematic if we introduce other body types such as birds, etc. So I agree that all creatures swimming on the surface from now on are half-way in the water.

No darkness spell is cast and it is Otto's turn in round 304.

Otto rises to 100n0e0z (squeezing) and shifts back into landform, resting his large right arm on the shore, trident planted lighly into the ground (only 5 feet in or so) as his tail splits into two legs.
