[OOC] Quickleaf's Rime of the Frostmaiden [closed but waitlist is available]

I can change Devil’s Sight to something else. I was debating it anyway. I’ll think on it, but this way there’s one more difference. Maybe Misty Visions, but I REALLY like Eyes of the Rune Master. I just don’t know if it’ll be useful in this campaign.

I might change Agonizing Blast for Repelling Blast. Go for battlefield control over DPS.

I've tried to play celestial warlock runekeeper. But both adventures fell apart quickly :(
I used repelling blast and eyes of the runekeeper. Useful for any druidic/infernal/draconic/celestial etc inscriptions

It’s My favorite invocation, though I couldn’t tell you why. I always want it and seldom take it.

I had a bard once with a low int, so I said he was illiterate because he was dyslexic. At one point a demon offered to save him from death, so he multiclasses to Warlcok. At lvl 2, he took Eyes of the Rune Keeper, and suddenly he could read EVERYTHING. it was a very big story moment for him, even if not a very useful one.

Tglassy, not everything needs to be optimal, as long as it fits the story.

I generally avoid (one could say even hate) "the great six" logic for the items in 3.5 / PF - usually, I sacrifice some numeric advantage for better story or coherence

I’m usually the same way. I pick my invocations based on who the warlock is, rather than optimized.

But I want him to be a crazy gunslinger/gambler type who got ahold of more power than he has a right to, so boosting EB makes sense. He’s got his invisible familiar flying around, and I REALLY want Gaze of Two Minds, but that’s locked till lvl 5.

So not sure what Invocation Set really fits him. That’s why I went with the generic Agonizing Blast and Devil’s Sight. He’s a QuickDraw gambling cheat, so Misty Visions might make sense. Maybe I could lean towards a semi illusionist with him. Trade one of my Cantrips for Minor Illusion.

Repelling blast instead of agonizing, for quick getaway rather than killing.

Aspect of the moon for not getting sleepy in poker nights

Gaze isn't 5th level or wikidot has wrong info

Mask of many faces might be good for avoiding chases

I’m using the Playtest, and they updated Gaze of Two Minds. It is now a viable option. Before, it was an action and you were blind and deaf to your own senses.

In the One Dnd Playtest, it is now a Bonus Action, you are NOT blind and deaf to your own senses, and you can cast spells as if you were either space, yours or the targets.

There’s a bit of a lost language thing happening in the mid-to-late game where that invocation would be great. Not so much at the earlier stages, maybe some Druidic or Giant.

Looks good. Took me a little reading to find everything I was trying to gather (languages and such), but your PC looks good. Lumrolur is approved (y)

Thanks for writing up your gear using my Item Slot Encumbrance house rules. Really appreciated.

I'm estimating the Monster Hunter Pack as counting for 7 slots of packed items...

Chest (2 slots) + Crowbar (1 slot) + Hammer (1 slot) + 3 Wooden Stakes & 3 Torches & Flask of Holy Water & Flask of Oil is eight "bundle type" items (1-2 slots, I'll round down to 1) + Manacles (1 slot) + Flask of Oil (1 slot) + Tinderbox and Holy Symbol and Steel Mirror (all are 0 slots) = 7 slots

...plus Cold Weather Clothes (1 slot), that's 8 slots, which is (2 slots) over your Strength of 6, so Lumrolur will be a bit encumbered (-10 feet speed) unless he gets some help like a strong ally or an ally casting Tenser's Floating Disk, or a pack mule or sled dogs, etc.

edit: sorry I made a mistake in maths! still same result of being encumbered, but just wanted to correct it.

edit edit: Just caught your PM. Yes! If you give up the chest to offset cost of Hand Crossbow, that's fine, and that will also bring you down to 6 of 6 packed item slots, preventing you from being encumbered. So all around good move.
