I guess SnorLoska can have a second rage remaining. Though I swear I'd like people who play Barbarians to realise that they don't need to rage every single encounter. There's a reason they seem a little overpowered, (in particular in their ability to soak damage). They're supposed to occasionally fight encounters WITHOUT raging, where they'd be a little underpowered, to balance it out. Maybe it was a bad idea to balance them that way, because everyone I've ever seen play a barbarian wants to rage every time they spot an enemy.

Well, SnorLoska have not rage every time. SnorLoska did not rage in the fight in the scrying room and he paid dearly for it. No rage and was hit with a 26 HP single spell (Inflict wounds). That was 40% of his max HP. Another time was a fight near the lakes. Also massive damage iirc.
Maybe SnorLoska is just bad at judging when to rage and when not to... :p

That's true! I remember thinking "Bad time not to rage!"

So I guess the fear that you'll waste a rage is often overcome by the fear that you'll waste HP by NOT raging! :)

Not sure as to everyone's strengths, but this sounds like a hit and run encounter.

Characters with best chance to survive a few strikes should hit the dragon I'm guessing.

I'll go with either group just put Zander in where a hole needs filled.

Terrus should grow real big and grapple the dragon, and then shove him prone. He’ll have Advantage on the grapple checks, and an arbitrary +5 when he needs it. That’ll give the dragon disadvantage on all his attacks save breath attacks. That’s my big play. Then everyone else wails on him. Try to do things that will disable him, but mainly just go to town.

but what group will face the dragon - the one facing the minions, or the one getting the staff?

Udit is useful in combat but he's not "amazing", he'll go wherever he's needed - he *really* needs for someone to be in contact with his targets though, otherwise his damage output is paltry. So... tank support?

SnorLoska will be tank, that’s all he is good for. Well, a little bit of sneaking too.
Not sure about Sesto… I’m thinking tank but maybe retrieving the staff. I will check what spell he has available that can help.

So far the dragon minion group looks like:

Terrus
Zander
Undit
SnorLoska
isn't Torbin good with a bow?

that would make five of us to try and hold off the dragon and his minions while the others search/retrieve the staff - then we hall arse out of there
