Okay, we are nearing the very end. I'm still gonna keep the round counter going, because the turn gradient is still important.

There's still a little for Zander, Pyrus, and Torbin to do if they want to live, so I hope you're still reading, EarlyBird

My initial thought is to jump on the Node here and now, maybe using telekinesis to grab the staff. Anyone have any objections?

Also, I think we can take the dragon. If Terrus grapples him now, he won’t be able stand, so all his attacks will have disadvantage. Also, all attacks against him will have Advantage. And Terrus not only has Gauntlets Of Ogre Power, but also has Advantage on Str checks, like grapple, and can raise his str check by 5 Points if he fails it. All in all, it means the dragon has little chance to break the grapple. Everyone else can just wail on him.

Thoughts?

I think you're crazy too. Is there any limit listed for Terrus' ability to grapple for Size? 'Cause this dragon is a Gargantuan Ancient Green Dracolich (in his Lair, no less). Your plan is about as powerful as I can imagine, but most of the party is in the TEENS when it comes to Hit Points. I imagine it would be a very satisfying ending to the game, but it could also be a disaster. Maybe let Mord (or Lorenn's mage hand) grab the Staff and GTFO before trying it, so that if you ALL DIE it won't be a total loss? Dretchroyaster will 'wake up' whether you grab the Staff, or the Node, either way.

Ok, never mind. I thought the dragon would be Huge, not gargantuan. You can grapple an enemy one size larger than yourself, and Terrus can become Large. At level 9, he can become Huge, and therefore could grapple the dragon, but right now that’s out.

Now, with Mastery of Force, he could still do it telekinetically, but then it’s a Str Saving Throw, and the DC is only 13 or 14, though he can boost that a little. But with no disadvantage, I’m not willing to do that.

It would be a satisfying end, though I wonder what the dragon would do if we just left. I can’t imagine it would just sit there. Terrus can try to get the Node, staying behind to trap the dragon.

Maybe we should just bolt. Auraia can get the staff. Her There and Back Again Ability lets her teleport at the beginning of her turn, do an action, then teleport back. No chance of the dragon grabbing the staff mid flight, that way.

I agree with previous comments that fighting the dragon is a bad idea. It would be satisfying to kill (?) the dracolich but do we know where his phylactery is located? He will then likely just come back to really angry and haunt us! No, better just to grab the diamond staff and leave asap. The mountain is likely to collapse on top of the dragon when he awakes and he will be trapped (forever?). Sesto and SnorLoska values their lives more than the satisfaction of killing an ancient dracolich.

SnorLoska and Sesto are in no position to grab the staff. Well. SnorLoska could try but it would be better if either Terrus, Mord or Lorenn grabs it.
