D&D 5E Out of the Abyss IC

Round 3

Brinn flooded into the cave and rained a flurry of kicks and blows at the skeletons attacking Raza. A well-placed kick and a punch destroyed Skeleton 8. Other Fist went into overdrive, punching clear through the solar plexus of Skeleton 7, destroying it.

Across the way, Skeleton 4 attempted but failed to break free of the earthen hand grasping it. Skeletons 3 hedged forward, and both it and Skeleton 6 hacked at Kago. Skeleton 3 missed, but Skeleton 6 landed a blow that dealt 4 points of damage.

OOC: Map update later today. Raza's turn, GlassEye. I'm posting on the fly this morning, so if there are errors I'll fix em later today.

Raza Thulcandra

Raza reassessed. Brinn had answered her call for help and shattered four skeletons with his fists in mere moments. She would have to fully consider how this changed things; her gaze lingered on the warrior as she thought.

"Bonebreaker! Heartbreaker, too, I would warrant." She batted her eyelashes at him then cackled and turned away.

Raza rushed over to where Solace lay sprawled on the stone floor and knelt, dropping her scimitar within easy reach. She checked the woman's wounds. Raza wasn't very skilled in the healing skills and she considered letting the Mother Night make the decision whether Solace lived or died but the girl had some hidden talents, Raza was sure of it. And an uncanny ability to draw enemy attention, which itself could be useful. She reached out her hand and muttered a prayer letting the Mother's healing energies flow into Solace.

For the second time that day, Solace threw up. Now there was nothing left in her system, though, and the clammy moisture on her skin was a thin film, made opalescent where her skin was exposed from the glitter of the magical protection she had been given. Protection she knew would soon be running out.

"Thank you, mother," she coughed, as she rolled onto an elbow and attempted to stand. "I have a sword here some... there it is." As she stands the world seems to heave beneath her, but that too could be her stomach catching up.

"I'll be fine now," she lied.

Kamael breathed a sigh of relief as he saw Solace stand again, but he knew better than to let his guard down before the battle was conclusively finished. Inhaling, he set his will to the complex task of molding the Weave while still maintaining the integrity of his earlier shaping. Seeing Kago sorely pressed, he swiftly released the resulting sphere of acid at the nearest of Kago's skeletal assailants.

Action: Cast Chromatic Orb at Skeleton 3 [roll0]. If hit, [roll1].

Round 3

Raza channeled healing energy into Solace, who vomited then recovered enough to stand up, her weapon in hand.

Kamael held forth his diamond and wove a spell in the air. He was careful to split his mind in two--one half concentrated on maintaining the earthen hand's grasp on Skeleton 4, whilst the other half focused on the mechanics of a new spell. Seconds later, a four-inch glowing sphere of green liquid formed in the air in front of Kamael, then streaked toward Skeleton 3. The sphere hit Skeleton 3, exploding and drenching the skeleton in a bath of acid. The damage was severe; many of Skeleton 3's bones pitted immediately. Skeleton 3 remained standing, however.

OOC: Raza's healing puts Solace at 8 hp. Yavathol, my read of Maximillian's earthen grasp is that it costs an action to direct the hand to deal damage. Since Kamael used his action this round to cast chromatic orb, I assume he no longer had an action available to him to direct the hand to deal 2d6 bludgeoning damage for Skeleton 4 this round, yes? Just clarifying so we're both on the same page. I agree that restraining Skeleton 4 requires no further action since the skeleton failed its Strength save to escape the hand earlier this round. industrygothica, it's Kago's turn!

Kago turned to Skeleton 6--the creature that had doled out the most pain to him--and swung his warhammer at the animated bones, but missed. Shuushar picked up Stool and put the myconid in front of him, casting yet another backward glance as he did. Turvey, ever curious, skittled forward to the lip of the cave mouth. Jimjar crept forward, too, but stayed behind Kamael.

OOC: [roll0] for [roll1] damage. IG's worked another double and asked me to post for Kago. Brinn's up, lowkey13.

Yes, CB, that's how I read it too:)
On a side note, if I don't roll a wild surge for the next fight then I may try what we discussed, in the early stages of character creation, about deliberately triggering one with Tides of Chaos, since I'm itching to roll on the Wild Surge table!! (Unless we take a long rest after this fight, in which case I won't be able to).
