Point-Blank Shot and Rays?

Does Point-Blank Shot's +1 attack bonus apply to rays? Does its +1 damage bonus, for those rays that do damage (such as a ray of frost)?

The SRD's wording for Point-Blank Shot specifies "ranged weapons," and I've been unable to determine if rays are considered "ranged weapons."

I think it applies to both attack and damage, if the target is within 30ft.

Yes. Tome & Blood has several pages about this and similar things and explains as well what happens to spells like Enervation (you get negative energy damage +1, e.g. 1 point damage and the usual neg. levels).

Indeed, a ray is a ranged attack in every way. Shot on the run, point blank shot, mounted archery all work on them.

As a matter of fact, so does weapon focus.
