RECRUITING CLOSED! 4ed: The Wolfcrown

Firstly, please remember that this is my first time running a PbP campaign, so this is still a little foreign to me.

I don't mean to seem overzealous with the ruling. It just seemed to me that we could all share one turn. If you have such a distaste for it, we'll change to initiative as written (with one caveat: that I run all the monsters at once. This would save me considerable effort) for the next battle as a trial run. If it goes smoothly, we adopt the standard system. If it doesn't, then we find a compromise? Agreeable?

I like this method, as it is typically the way I try to run my own encounters. I may roll separate initiatives for each group of monsters, but, through a series of delays and what have you, they typically end up on the same initiative count.

It's settled then: next battle, I'll roll initiative for each of you at the beginning of the encounter, then we'll post in order. Hopefully, that keeps things going smoothly.

Shay, you're a good player, and I hope to have you back to your cheerful self soon.

To Rathan: I don't think I'm going to do the pokemon game. It seems interesting, but I don't think I've got the time for it, especially if the Dustbowl gets going soon.

To everyone else, thanks for weighing in and helping smooth out the issue. I'm constantly looking forward to updating the game. Also, please know that I want this game to be fun for ALL of us. If anybody has any additional complaints or suggestions, please post them in this thread or PM me. I promise to do my best to find a balance that works for each of us.

And finally, yeah, you guys have been getting screwed on the dice rolls. IC just really hates the queen.

Hee hee

I'm good. Just had to vent. (^_^)

Also, just to be clear: I love the game so far. I really do. Thanks very much for running it. :D

No problem, Shay. Now let's try to avoid having the queen get killed. It's gonna be a close one, I think.

EDIT: Holy crap, you guys annihilated the assassin. I'm going to keep him alive so you can question him if you like.

To anybody that's interested, I've reformatted the original post of this thread to look...prettier.

I turned it into a more coherent document that you can check if you want a quick reminder on something like the level of enchantments you've accrued or Hero Point totals.

Cool, thanks. I really appreciate the work you're putting into this campaign. It shows, and I'm enjoying myself immensely.

Thanks again!

I do hope you're having a much fun as we are DF... cause I'm having a blast thusfar and I really can't wait to see how far this campaign might take us :)

Thanks, you guys! I'm having a grand ol' time, too. This is really a fun chance for me to delve a little deeper into this world I made, and it's really exciting for me to see you interacting with these other characters.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm going to run this game until you all quit, or until we reach the true end of the story. My girlfriend has been helping me work out the overarching plot, and let me tell you: it's going to get pretty crazy down the line.

In honor of the passing of our dear friend Thomas, your next (completely optional) homework assignment is to have your character tell a story about one of the prominent memories or experiences regarding death.

Remember:
This is optional. You won't be penalized for not doing it.
You can tell your story through internal monologue or dialogue with an NPC.
The story must be about the same length as your previous assignment.
Your reward will be a Hero Point.
You have until 12 Noon (US Central Time) on Tuesday, March 23rd.
If your story is posted after the deadline, you won't receive a reward.

So have fun with it. I expect this to be a little more challenging than the previous assignment due to the subject matter, but I feel that this could really help you explore your characters.

Bah! My previous story was about poor Baern's mammy's tragic demise at the hands of those smelly ogres. How much death can you expect one dwarf to handle in his first 75 years?! ;)
