Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5

Ooc

Wait, Logan is confused: did we have two who were dead, or just one? 'Cause I sure thought that Jillian was down for some reason. Grackle, too? We only had one scroll of Resurrection (True), correct? If there was only one down and out, then he/she gets the benefit of the scroll, if there were two in need of it, then we'll need a DM's ruling, because there are posts purporting to use it on both Jillian and Grackle. Eeep! Ooops!

OOC: There were three scrolls of True Resurrection. You are correct that both Jillian and Grackle were in need of such magic. I have also agreed to let Logan cast raise dead, a fifth level spell spontaneously.

OOC: thank you, thank you, thank you! But, if Jillian and Grackle are the only two party members who needed to be raised, then I doubt if we'll need a spontaneous Raise Dead, so feel free to change your mind on that ruling. After I read the rules on the subject, it seemed pretty clear that the word "Cure" has to be in the spell's title for it to be spontaneously cast. Now, if you'll approve Logan's New Spell, Logan's Cure Death, then he should be able to cast that one spontaneously for sure!

So, we've got one scroll of True Ressurection remaining, assuming that no one else that I'm not aware of died this time. One scroll of True Ressurection before we even get into the dungeon of TOMB OF HORRORS. We are doooooomed. :)

OOC: My ruling isn't really that generous. You've still got to come up with the material component...

OOC-Unless you'd rule that since Grackle was standing right next to Ballista, and he was taken to exactly -10 He didn't die until the end of the round. Therefore her cure light saved him :) since it was the first thing she did. Then we'd still have 2 scrolls left, Since I don't think the party even has 5000g unspent if we all pooled our unspent resources together.

Grackle "Grubeater" Granitetop, HP 64/57, AC 20

(OOC: Thanks. Grackle's stabilization roll was a 67 or so, as noted further up, so I don't think that'd have sufficed, but I dunno. If Grackle did get True Resurrected, then he wouldn't need any other healing, since TR brings back the recipient at full.)

"Yay! Yer okies, Admiral!" the gnome says, hugging his pet weasel and spinning around a few times. "Do ya has any orders fer me, Admiral? Hm? Oh, you wants me t' helps wit' the diggin'? 'KAYS!" he says, talking to the weasel. "Aye, aye, sir!" he adds with a salute to the weasel......

Then Grackle starts muttering gibberish again, and summons forth two gnome-sized piles of rock and dirt. He points towards the rubble down the hall and tells the conjured piles of debris "Hey rocks! Move those other rocks out of my way. Thanks! We talk more later." in a rasping, grumbling, gnashing tongue (Terran). They sink into the ground and re-emerge by the rubble, moving to comply.

Once the rubble has been cleared, if the group starts heading inside, Grackle will take out his wand and speak its command word, casting False Life on himself for 3 hours (7 hp).

Summon Monster IV, cast twice for small earth elementals on the SM 3 list (2d3=2)

False Life wand, before entering the tunnels for the second time (1d10+3=7)

OOC: Yikes! Hey, Ballista! Got a spare engagement ring?

OOC-Just wondering how Zorn is using a wand of CLW? Though CLW is in the arcane spell scroll list, its not on the sorcerer spell list, its on the bards. There are several of us able to use it, so outside of combat it shouldn't be an issue, but in combat it could get sticky.

Ballista will continue tp excavate the opening with those fit enough to help her. Nodding her appeciation to the little gnome, whos helpers work tirelessly clearing the path, they make short work of the small mountain of stone and dirt.

OOC- Our DM was nice enough to allow me to have UMD as a class skill in place of Bluff. Between ranks, feat (magical aptitude), and ability mod, Zorn has a +20 in UMD.

Zorn casts False Life before reentering the tomb in order to gain more protection from the evil within (like falling boulders).

False Life (1d10+9=14)

current HP=62
