Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5

Zorn, human sorcerer. AC 13, HP (w/false life) 59

Stretching to relieve the soreness from his body from sleeping on the most uncomfortable ground, Zorn looks around to take in the surroundings. He makes a mental note of his companions and their locations before meditating. Afterwards, he casts another protective spell on himself before re-entering the tomb. He hopes the gnomes were successful in disabling the remaining traps.

Is everyone ready to proceed? he questions the group.

Those of us who cannot avoid traps should stay back from the others. I, for one, wish to avoid another repeat of yesterdays mishap with the falling boulders. The experience was a crushing defeat in our attempt to get into the tomb. he adds attempting to add to the levity a few others seem to have started.

Harrison looks to Logan, reaches into his quiver and pulls out a mace. "Smashey bashy?"

IC: Says Logan, "Personally, I think it might be a better idea to spring the trap, rather than 'smashey bashy.' But that's pretty much up to you, the Smasher basher!"

OOC: No! You're NOT sorry! I'm offended that you would even try to present that as an accident! New Campaign Rule: If your going to unashamedly make a terrible pun, at least have the testicular fortitude to boldly admit that you meant to do it and you'd do it again if given the chance! (Because we all know that you would, and expect you to do more of the same at every opportunity! )

Grackle just stands around like that until someone breaks into the pit, then he takes the Everburning Torch out of his pack and holds it in one hand, crawling down the side of the pit like a spider, or a monkey, or a spider-monkey. He looks straight down the pit as he goes. He can't help but dribble a bit more, thinking of all the big tasty bugs that might be living at the bottom of the pit... Or the shiny-shinies he could plunder.....

Ballista smirks at the willingness of the basher to just blindly break through a trap door. "Mmm I smell a compromise coming along. Heres how we'll work it: Jillian will safely spring the trap door, so that Grackle and I can take a look down there without having to sift through a brand new pile of rubble. Once we get back then you can smashy...bashy the spot where the hidden door has been bricked up. Sound like a plan?" And with that she cordially indicates the trap door to Jillian with a 'whenever your ready' wave of her hand. She then ties one end of her silk rope around her waist and proffers the other end to Harrison with a flirtatious batting of her long eyelashes over the tops of her silver spectacles. "Would you mind noble sir? Just in case something goes awry?

Jillian glances around at the others, pausing just enough for effect, before going about her work to 'spring' the trap door.

Jillian soon finds the concealed handle in the box on the wall that springs the pit trap underneath. She has to engage in some careful stretching to do it without falling in the pit, but her exceptional skill proves adequate. The pit contains some wicked looking spikes at the bottom. Previous victims bones can also be seen along with the glint of something shiny.

Once she has opened the trap door she nods to Ballista, bows and then steps back out of the way. Then she will go check out the archway and the devil's head. She will not get very close but she will look at them from all angles trying to see if she can discern anything unusual from them.

]ooc[I think intestinal or spinal fortitude might be more appropiate as we never really know the gender of another unless we know the individual personally. I would also like to edit my comment in my post 6 posts up, there are no bad/terrible puns. only good puns ]/ooc[

Harrison takes the proffered silk rope from the flitatious Ballista, giving a polit bow in so doing.

"mi' lady, i would be most honored to be an anchor for your body and soul should there be the potential hazard to either. As for the smashing and bashing being liiimisted just the wall ahead, I suppose that in order to prevent any further ham to being inflectind on any of this party would be a most ameable reason for such a restraint." he says this with a boyish grin on a blushing face.
