Hey, look! It's SSS-Druid!

Does the name apply anymore? Should it be WotC freelancer druid or somesuch. ;)

Does this mean that we are likely to see a review of it, at some point in the future? :)

Heh. My reviews are at a snails pace and compensated products have priority, so those are going to have to take precedence ATM.

At any rate, as I am running an extended seafaring game, getting the book was a natural.

Looking forward to it, if so. And not just from Psion, but in general. This is my first project for WotC, and I'm pretty nervous about it. Thanks to everyone who's said they like the material thus far; thanks also to folks who've said its not their cup of tea.

Anything you want to say about the way you feel it turned out?

I gave REAL thought to running The Tamorean Vast tonight. In retrospect, I wish I would have. Bloody Jack's Gold is not doing it for me.

As someone who has bought every non-setting-specific 3.5 WotC book, I would strongly advise against keeping WoL on your 'to buy' list. It was the first 3.5 book I've felt was a complete waste of money. I disliked it so much that I immediately removed 'Magic of Incarnum' from my 'to buy' list by association; the recent preview of that book has me thinking it might be worth a look after all.

Heh. I understand what you're saying. WoL has definitely had a mixed reaction.

In fact, that is one of the reasons I want to get it. Whilst the majority of my D&D books have been bought because I want to use them, there are also a small number that I've bought because I want to know what was in them - regardless of whether it was useful or not.

When a book comes out that is so controversial, mechanically speaking, then there are lessons to be learned from it. This is especially true for designers and developers, though in my case I'm primarily trying to be an informed commentator . :)

Cheers!

Will I get it ? Yes
When is the biggest issue. Hopefully yet this year but there are a few ahead of it.
I am about 8 books behind in my buying right now.

I'll definitely get it. Not sure when, but sometime in the next few months. Got a lot of other things on my list and I try not to run too far behind on the older stuff.

Already bought it. Not bad. Not quite as cool as Frostfell, but it has enough in it that I liked.
I got it on Saturday. I agree that it's not bad, but not great either. Not as good as Frostburn. About the same as Sandstorm.

Frostburn blew me away, Sandstorm not so much, but still plenty in it that makes it useable. Most definetely looking forward to having Stormwrack in my hands! I have always wanted to put together a aquatic game, so this will helps tons (I hope).

Nope, not buying.

However, if I hadn't long since converted the 2e Of Ships & the Sea to 3.x (and into a rip-roaring version that perfectly suits my group) this is the one environmental book I'd be buying - I love me my seafaring adventures.

I bought it as an impulse buy - I was at Wizard World this last weekend and discovered that one of the dealers was selling D&D books at 40% discount. Stormwrack was the only book I didn't have already unfortunately (because at that rate I would have bought a whole lot more), so I snagged it.
