What's next, are they gonna make it so instead of causing a giant fireball to leave my wizard's hands, a pellet, like my rabbit drops, will fly to the target and explode there???

Maybe the damage will be a less variable amount, like say (caster level x 3) plus 1d8 just to keep the number random.

Maybe the area will be smaller, 20' radius IMHO is too big of an area.

Yes, I believe that Fireball is now a curse that only affects male opponents. "Say goodbye to your two best friends!" sort of thing...
