They're Bringing Evil Back. ( 3.5 DnD )

Erik made a low throaty rumble of disapproval. He disliked people with too many questions. If he was right and these Priests were indeed acolytes of the Elemental Eye, it would be likely that they had spies about who could forewarn those there that he (and the others) were coming. It was one of the reasons he wished to leave for the Moathouse so abruptly.
Instead of engaging in any kind of verbal sparring with those about Erik strode to one corner of the room so he could view all within. Then in a strong voice he said a prayer to his Patron, asking the Cudgeler to grant him clarity of sight to best weed out those with ill intentions.

Yun frowns slightly at the man's seemingly large knowledge of something that is supposed to be secret. "So how is it that you know of this? Were you also asked by Olster to assist him in this? Who is your father?" He Maridosen a quick glance. "You seem to get along well with miss Maridosen, she seems to rather dislike the rest of us..."

Neither Yun or I mentioned the moathouse, nor did the Gundigoots mention it in Maridosen's presence. So how do they know? Expert hearing, perhaps? They're certainly interested in us and the moathouse.

As Yun speaks, Vendan puts a hand on Yun's arm. "Pardon me friend, but I think Maridosen and I get along rather well. As for the moathouse, I guess if this fellow's been out there, then he would know. He looks like the sort that knows about these things, that's for sure."

"Alright Maridosen, I'll take one of those rooms. Oh, and by the way, you're quite right. About having a face, that is."

Vendan turns around on his barstool, drink in hand, and looks about the rest of the tavern.

"I am sorry, I should not have spoken for the rest of you. I only know that miss Maridosen seems to dislike me, though I wish it were otherwise." Yun replies with a sigh.

Erik bypasses the group and takes a post in one of the outer most corners of the joint. After murmuring a few words, he scans the Welcome Wench for any that may radiate evil. A handful of patrons do including a gnome clad in robes, two men playing cards garbed in black leather armor, Maridosen, and the man at the bar that the rest of the party are speaking to. "I only know of the moat house because of its past. I heard through the grape vine that Olster had thought it to be inhabitated, so I thought I'd poke around. Found nothing there." His face scrunches up to that of confusion, staring at Yun. "I don't see how my father would factor into this." He shakes away the puzzlement, ".. and you just have to know how to talk to Maridosen. Being polite gets you no where, isn't that right dear?" That lopsided grin forms on his lips once again. "Now. If I were you folks, I would head straight to the temple and deal with the hobgoblins that are hanging around. They seem to be a real threat on the town." He nods several times, his tone similar to that of a traveling salesman.

"So then... Olster did not ask you to assist him." Yun gets the feeling that this man is trying just a bit too hard to convince them of something. He doesn't inspire a great deal of trust. Especially since it's clear now that he was not asked by Olster to assist him, but rather claims to have heard it through a grape wine. He glances in Maridosen's direction when she is mentioned, "What manner of grape wine speaks these things to you?" He asks the man skeptically.

Erik strides back over and stand in front of the curious man. Interposing himself between the stranger and his new comrades. Erik stood at his full height, so close the man could feel the Cleric's hot breath on his forehead. Erik stood silently glowering over him. One word escapes through gritted teeth. "Leave."

OOC: Intimidate +5

Nairb smiles at Erik's attempt at intimidation and says in a grunting voice, "listen to the man bub, or you'll be listening to the angels in a few minutes."

OOC: Making an aid another check for Erik's intimidation attempt.

Chatrilon freezes momentarily, the feces-eatting grin washing from his face. He clears his throat and attempts another smile, this one much weaker than the one before it. "There's no reason for your tone, I am only trying to save you from wasting your time and resources. Besides.. this bar does not belong to you.. I am free to stay." His words are wavering and his complexion has paled, but he doesn't abandon his post at the bar.

( Just barely missed the intimidation check. Even with the aid. )
