Free MCs? Tell me more, I haven't heard of this...
They released a free bundle of new (Spelljammer focused) monsters, with the implication that there will be more to come down the road. It's on D&DB as the "Monstrous Compendium Volume One: Spelljammer Creatures", and there's also a place to download it as a free PDF on the Wizards site, provided you have an account.

Heretic of The Seventh Circle

It's not entirely clear, but it does sound like the Astral Plane is mostly taking the place of Phlogiston. It's repeatedly mentioned on the product page. Wild Space is also mentioned, so at least Astral/Wild Space seem distinct.

Yeah, tbh looks to me like they’re blurring the lines of Spelljammer and Planescape, like I thought they would.

Id bet you can’t also go into the ethereal and get to the crystal citadel.

Fixed it for you...
Reflumph a Spell, and use Magic Initiate

Yeah, I would consider myself one, and I love what they've announced so far. I don't want a setting that is fixed in amber. This feels different and new, but also still very much evoking the Spelljammer of old.

I hope enough other veteran Spelljammer fans agree. Not looking forward to another Ravenloft response.

Content aside, I mean it could be garbage, but at least it looks like they got the format right. Though I could do without the adventure. But (3) 64 page books is better than a massive adventure.
I actually love this - player options and monsters for regular play, and the adventure for inspiration and just plain reading fun. (I'm one of those weirdos who likes to read adventures for pleasure, without any real intention of ever running them).

I generally dont run pre-made adventures. I used to and some were pretty good. I would prefer if that 64 pages was used as part of the Astral Adventures Guide. Because the adventure is only 64 pages that's more manageable for me and who knows I might actually use it.

WizKids has a Spelljammer pre-order page up at DnDmini.com . . . . it has the gargantuan astral dreadnought, the solar dragon, and . . . . SIX "ship scale" blister packs with four to seven ships or ship-sized creatures and hazards!!!! Oh, and the booster bricks and the nearly $800 collector's edition of the Spelljammer set (which includes all of the above, including the big stuff).
Those ship scale Minis are pretty wild.

I think we might be seeing the Ghosts of Saltmarsh/Avernus vehicle rules make a comeback, with IN SPAAAAAAAAACE additions.

Do we know how large these ship minis are yet? I've been trying to picture the scale they're using and I'm wondering what I could utilize with them.

My impression from the trailer was that they are not "large," but are meant to be at a different time scale, for naval engagement.
