So if I were to drop that big Ancient Red or Tiamat onto the board, it would be more along the lines of the old Radiant Dragon for scale?

That could be useful.

"Ship scale" was one of the things lacking from the GoS ship rules. Everything used regular human-scale units, which means you really need to rely on theatre of the mind or have a battlemap the size of a tennis court.

Why? Why would you care what other people think?
Because I don't want to see any decent group of veteran D&D fans alienated from the current version of the game. And I wouldn't feel right supporting any decisions by Wizards that would cause that to happen.

Did they change the art for this? In the video they have laser guns, while in this picture they have spears and swords.

I wonder what that means…
I've noticed too the art of Kendrick's Astral Elf PC switches back and forth between Spear and discount MCU Star-Lord guns. Part of me wonders if it's because of the Star-Lord inspired guns that they created a legally distinct version where it's a Spear instead. But then, IIRC/supposedly, Kendrick is fond of playing Warlocks so it's possible that it could be a Warlock pact weapon switching type deal as a Bladelock.

Lost in Dark Sun
I'm very pleased that they're using the Astral Sea for this since it'll mean I can make extensive use of The Plane Above: Secrets of the Astral Sea. I'm curious if the concept of the Outer Planes having their own fleets of ships in the Astral will make a return here.

Me too!

They released a free bundle of new (Spelljammer focused) monsters, with the implication that there will be more to come down the road. It's on D&DB as the "Monstrous Compendium Volume One: Spelljammer Creatures", and there's also a place to download it as a free PDF on the Wizards site, provided you have an account.

Setting aside my excitement at seeing a Dark Sun creature (YAY!!), It’s nice to see that the Yggdrasti is D&D’s answer to Pathfinder’s Sard.

In Pathfinder, sards were basically faerie trees that got struck by lightning and decided the best thing to do in response was to uproot themselves and rampage across creation.

Nightmare beast is a DS creature, and maybe one of the most iconic of the setting, but astral dreadnought is Planescape and even with a miniature.
