What does orc blood do for halforcs?

Don't forget Orcbane weapons or Arrows of Orc Slaying :)

Basically, in the Core Rules, there's no advantage. There are a few magic items and PrCs in splatbooks or third party products that they can take advantage of, though.

And don't forget that the DM can create other magical items to suit his campaign - as can players. So that orc shaman that features grandly in the DM's schemes may have his own shaman staff made - and your half-orc can pry it from his cold, dead fingers and use it as his own.

Only thing I can figure is that they're in trouble against rangers with either favored enemy human or orcs.

Actually, the HO (and Half-Elf) would be immune to Favored Enemy: Human, as they have Orc-Blood or Elf-Blood, not Human-Blood! ;)

The HO could use Judge's Guild's Spear of Darkness!...

Actually, they are considered both Human and Orc, as well as Human and Elf for the HO and HE respectively. Now, as far as the orc and elf blood. Perhaps you want to add special items whose powers only are manifest when a person of certain bloodline/racial line uses/wields/wears it. Thats party where that comes in.

As for half-orcs, well, they get to use the Orc double-axe as a martial weapon!

Well, no, he's right - there's nothing in their description stating that they are considered humans for any purposes.

If Half-Orc were a template applied to a human, you'd be right.
But then Half-Orcs would also get a human's bonus feat and skill points.

Quenches thirst?

Moves oxygen?

Lubricates the armor?

Makes pretty pictures? (green, red, black?)

I think tasty snack says it best ;)

Oh, and dwarves have a better chance to hit them too. :)

I'd say that going by the core rules only it is a listed disadvantage, like low INT and CHR. But if your DM is feeling kind she might throw in an "orc-only" magic item.
