Jain Hadlin, A lesson learned

Hmm, that went surpiseingly well, I guess all it takes to make a woman happy is letting them think they're in charge! Well burn me, I like Shalimar, but no ones giving me flamein orders. At least she's happy. By the creator, I do believe she actually thinks I'm looking to get myself killed.

Jain chuckles to him self as he pulls on his boots.

"I wonder what everyone else is doing......"

I think i'll head down to kitchen and get some food. Maybe one of the others would like to spar.

Jain, doesn't bother with his coat, but snatches up his rapier and heads down stairs. His mood is vastly inproved, he has a spring in his step, and a smile on his face.



I can hardly believe it, something actually went right for a change!

She motions to her bag, "Shall I pack my things and be on my way to the Palace?"

"No. If Elayne were not Daughter-Heir, I doubt the sisters escorting Logain would want her with them. Adding an errant Accepted to the group is not something they would do willingly. Sheriam can deal with you when we return to Tar Valon." Lila said. "But you are not leaving this inn without me."

Sirsei nods meekly, "As you will, Lila Sedai."

Ashrem hefted the stick an looked at his sword as if comparing the two. It would have to do.

"That sounds like a plan to me. I have no wish to dance with a myrdraal.", he said as he tried a few strikes with the stick. "You are a lucky man Yuri, lucky that wound didn't kill you."

He turned to Yuri and leveled his pratice sword at the man's throat. "Enough talk. Lets dance." he said with a wry grin.

FYI - Ashrem's "rapier" actually looks a lot like the sword Snipes had in Blade.]

OOC: Good thing I wrote that little roll-a-d20 program...

[Shalimar Shiawase]

OOC: I don't know if a carrot foor my horse is included in the money Lila Sedai must have paid if it isn't tell me how much.

Taking the carrot Shalimar walks into the the stable and sits on a stool while brushing daple and feeding her the carrot. She doesn't particularly care what people think about her caring for her own horse, while not a very nobleish attitude she loves Dapple, and caring for her makes her happy.

On the way back through the Courtyard she will take a seat in the shade under a tree to watch Yuri and Ashrem fight.

"Don't mind me boys, feel free to hit each other as much as you want, I might even heeal you if you hurt each other." she says sweetly with a twinkle in her eyes, amusement plain in her voice.

I wonder what it is about boys and sticks, they always seem to eventually trying to bash in each others heads with them. It must be a defect. Oh well, at least they are being entertaining. That ashrem certainly does move very gracefully.

OOC: Not sure how you plan to handle this Dave. Do you want to just run the combat until someone gets hit? After a "killing" strike by either Yuri or himself, Ash will back off to catch his breath a second and then continue. I've had a bit of experience with swords IRL and six seconds can seem like forever.

It didn't take long for sweat to start showing through the tight cotton shirt. He hadn't worked the swords in too long, and was a bit rusty. The borderlander was good, and he knew he'd get his head cracked if he wasn't on his toes.

Ashrem danced with Yuri for all he was worth. It seemed Shalimar had come out to watch and he didn't want to look bad in front of a lady.

[ooc: Ahem! Ashrem's the graceful one? We got the same Dex, lady, and I got more Balance ranks...you've hurt Yuri's feelings. ]

Yuri doesn't want to hurt the man, but if Ashrem's going to learn something, he needs Yuri to do his best to hit him. However it's resolved, Yuri has this to say when they're done.

"Not bad Ashrem, you've got potential. You certainly react and adapt quickly. You should learn balance, however, that's how I knocked you to the ground on that one pass. [artistic license?]And see how you're breathing harder than I am? It's a simple matter of exercise. Watch as I do these forms. If you want to become better at balance, you should practice these for at least an hour each day. It'll put some muscles on those arms, as well."

Yuri leans in to whisper in Ashrem's ear.

"And certain ladies like men with muscles."

Yuri looks away from Shalimar so hard that he's practically staring at her. [I always liked that convention in the books.]

"If we're done, I'd like some space to practice on my own, please."

 

[Shalimar Shiawase]

OOC: I know you have muscles Yuri, its just that I expect you to be a tough warrior, I don't know ashrem so he is more impressive the first time around.

Shalimar claps her hands when they finish. "You were very entertaining, if I didn't know better I would say you were trying to show off for me. Ashrem, your quite light on your feet, you were truly marvelous."

Her eyes narrow when Yuri whispers at Ashrem. "Yuri, you know its not polite to keepp secrets, what were you saying?"
