D&D 5E New weapons damage table. Hopefully little more balanced.

Everyone is forgetting that the high strength characters generally have heavy armor, and thus have +1 AC over Dex characters. I think one problem is that medium armor doesn't have a 4th tier, hurting the medium armor non-Dex characters. A fighter with a longsword and shield and 20 Str has a 20 AC in plate, but a fighter with 20 Dex and a rapier and shield has 19 AC in studded leather. Let's say they have a 13 in the other stat. So Dex gets +4 to Dex skills, initiative, and Reflex (half damage, most often), while Str gets +4 athletics, carrying capacity, and Str saves (forced movement and grabs mostly), and +1 AC. I feel that's pretty close to me. Skills are often active, and people use them when they want to.

That Dex fighter is also getting +4 to their ranged attacks and damage compared to the Str fighter.

I really like where you are going with this, however there are a few items I am confused about.

1. The warmace does the same damage as a maul. Are you just renaming the maul? If not, should the warmace be moved to the martial weapons list? The 'war' designation implies that it is a martial weapon that requires a bit more weapon training than a simple weapon.
2. A dart does more damage than a thrown dagger. Is there a reason for this?
3. The retiarius gladiators used a trident and net, so there is historical evidence that it was light enough to be wielded with one hand. I would rather see it as a versatile, reach weapon.
4. I'm OK with increased damage for crossbows at the expense of making them slower. Play-testing would be required to confirm my thoughts though.

I didn't want to name every single weapon.
Maul is with greataxe/greatsword at 2d8, same stats.
dart is not light weapon so damage die one up.
Trident was just an example, I aimed mostly to cover all categories of weapons.
