D&D Movie/TV Benedict Cumberbatch Joining D&D Movie?

According to The Sun, Benedict Cumberbatch is joining Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Rege-Jean Page, Hugh Grant and others in 2023's D&D movie.

He was in the The Hobbit trilogy as Smaug, the dragon, and is well known as Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock. More recently he narrated an animated short about a Drizzt.

So before you all start quoting me again to criticize and correct, etc., this free advert blip is not about the D&D movie but let's first play along that this could definitely be D&D movie adjacent.

Soundtracks are a thing in movies for decades now. And I see this opportunity to help market this young rapper on Kickstarter, Dizzy Roseblade

This kid is doing a rap album narrating D&D Adventures and even his personal experience. What say we support the Kickstarter (last 40 hours now) and maybe even get him on the official soundtrack?

There are those of you with more sway and years in this D&D Industry, so can make this happen.

1. I love hip hop, but not into nerd rap. Some nerd in my rap is fine, a la early Del the Funky Homosapien or El P.
2. Never going to happen w/ getting him on the soundtrack.

I wish the dude well.

Many movies with song get songs to match the feel of the movie.

If instrumentals, will be dominant, then, yes, a Hans Zimmer orchestral theme would be epic.

I suspect if there is some light hearted fun, this is a D&D movie, a background rap track with nerdy lyrics narrating a montage scene could work to.

I do it at my table, hence, I thought the Dizzy Roseblade's Kickstarter was ace.

They got I believe his name is John Rhyss Davies to play Gimli and he's 6' tall or thereabouts!
I guess it depends on what role they want him to play.
IF this is set in Neverwinter in the MMO there is that Master of Illusions who'd fit the bill well enough!
And those that play that game will know which skirmish I'm referring to!

(This may have already been said, apologies as I just skimmed the thread posts so may have missed something)

given that principle shoots have already happened this is unlikely a core character role. Thus , if happening. Likely either..

(A) the wise advisor that imparts information or items along the heroes journey

(B) the would-be-future-build up villain that just gets a cameo in the film, or teaser post credits (think thanos in early marvel films) such that his presence is established now as a brief ‘there is that mysterious character’ but to lay build up for a future movie

just my thoughts anyway
