D&D (2024) Ranger 2024 is a bigger joke than Ranger 2014:

Jump I'll give you, but the rest go a long way towards neutering the experience in one way or another, because they're all very reliable and let you skip things it would otherwise take time and effort to do. And other spells, like Goodberry and Tiny Hut, are much worse.
Your going to have to neuter a lot more than the ranger spells to get that to work.

I mean, you can play as a warforged and not need to breath, sleep, or find food.

That would take a whole system rework, not just a single class.

Indeed (and I'm glad that overhaul has been done by designers who want all the parts of their game to have meaning). But the ranger, the class intended to interact the most with what WotC has insisting is just as important as combat and social interaction, is really not helping matters. At all.

Please explain, what effort you'd like.

Instead of tiny hut, you want the players to describe how they gather wood and how exactly they camouflage their camp?

That is usually
a) out game knowledge,
b) only interesting one single time.

Lets face it: although many gamers think they know how to survive alone in the wood behind enemy lines, most would not...

Wow. Tell us how you really feel. I assume this claim is anecdotal at best, since I've heard of no official report.
I say it all the time.

The 2014 edition was heavily catered to people who ultimately did not pick up 5e and stuck with OSR and PF.

The 2014 Ranger and the exploration rules are examples of that.

I would like survival to be skill and non-magical class feature-based, for one thing, and for spells to be helpful but not capable of efficiently skipping that process.

The truth is for all the complaining about being these magic obfuscating and skipping exploration rules, the vast majority of 5e players would not even want to use those rules.

This is why I said that the Ranger should be less involved with the idea of minimizing starvation and thirst and more involve in dealing with supernatural natural threats like magical storms, magical animals, fey and shadow crossings, and draconic and giant magic.

I would not resteict it to 5e players. We skipped it since 2e mostly. As it is only fun once and then: "we do it like we did yesterday".

Yes. I hope the revised spells they get will help them fullfill that niche.
