No, it wasn't even received lukewarmly: the feedback on that attempt was very bad: people wanted Pact Magic very forcefully.
not sure how that is exclusive to short rest

WotC doesn't want change for changes own sake, but to please their players.
maybe, as far as I am concerned they still threw away all of their best ideas and gave us a reheated 5e instead, which to me still is a major disappointment and the reason I am not interested in the 2024 books

They tried a bunch of ideas, and took up what people wanted. Crawford was constantly upfront thst most of those ideas wouldn't make it.

They are hyping how much better arranged they are, and how the CR rating are more accurate. So I strongly expect it to be more streamlined for the DM as well.

No idea on how much more. But better is better.

Again, expect Topple mastery. If they didn't change it, I probably will.
Details and specific goals are important "better" is an incredibly low bar and the only admission we've heard (more crs of monsters) is the easiest one to house rule or fill with 3pp books.
People voted it down hard. They liked warlocks being different.

And honestly I wish sorcerers where different too. Like if they removed slots and just cast with sorcerery points.
19 out of 20 toddlers voted for continued candy levels and expressed a desire for more. One YouTuber invalidated the entire survey results because wotc made no effort to sort for important variables in the survey

Stuff we don't have yet.

And if you're reject my assessment based on lack of evidence, then you shouldn't be making judgments yet either.

No. Warlocks got more spell slots being a half caster.

They voted for pistachio ice cream, because every other class is vanilla, chocolate, or vanilla with chocolate chips.

he said they would test bigger changes first to see what the appetite for change is, that they halfway through the UA decided to gut them all, even the ones that made the threshold made me lose all interest in the UA, and it has not returned with the new books either

I still maintain that they dropped all their best ideas and do not really care why they did it, but it means 2024 is deeply uninteresting to me. Maybe 6e in 2032 or so manages to move the needle forward, but I am not sure about that either.
