I perfectly OK with The Realms being the so-called "default" setting for D&D, just not in it's current state. I'd very much like to see some classic Realms hero characters fall, it's really time for that setting to be shaken up and have some new lore injected into IMO.

My advice would as far as developing a style, is to get an Anatomy book for artists and study it until you know it. Then practice drawing "realistic" characters and see how far your able to stylize the figures without losing the integrity of the anatomy. Also find materials you enjoy working...

FotR- Gandalf TTT-Gollum RotK- This would have to be a tie between Sam And Faramir. I didn't like where PJ was going with Faramir in TTT but it pays off in RotK. Such a heartbreaking character.
