On the character sheet question, if people don't have Excel then the simplest option is probably just a text template. Here's one that one of my other GMs made up for his game, and I tend to use now.

You beat me to this bump by 30 minutes. ;)

Errandir and Gandalf, what's up? You have been absent for over 48 hours and it has been over 30 hours since I requested feedback.

With Warshrike not having Excel, the format Gruffle proposed in good. I was going to suggest just that for keeping it all on the RG thread. I recommend using MS Notebook text file for you draft copy as you can guarantee the formatting easier. I tried using tabs to get things to line up in columns and it did not work so well, but you can use <spaces> and do the same thing without having to fight the formatting in more advanced word processors.
 

I'm sorry; I missed the part of your post asking for responses. I've been trying to figure out how to make a wizard - it's a long sight more complicated than making a fighter. I think I've got most of it worked out so far, though. I used the mythweavers site for now because I'm more familiar with it, but I'll try to move everything over to excel later.

This is what I have so far. Two questions, though: first, do I need to spend 100 gp for a familiar? And second, can I get a metamagic feat at first level, or do I need a wizard bonus feat for that?

My little sister got appendicitis yesterday, so I've been up all night for two days, I'm going to get some rest and then put what I have up tomorrow.
 

@ Errandir - looks good from your sheet. Can't answer the familiar question, but as far as metamagic feats, as far as I know there is nothing stopping you using your feat @ 1st to take one but the only 'metamagic' feat with a +0 adjustment that you could qualify for is Eschew Materials. All others add at least +1 level to the spell making them effectively useless til you hit 3rd (ie get 2nd level slots) and you'd get another feat then anyway. Oops, just noted there is one in CArc - Born of the Three Thunders - but it only affects spells which are 'electric' or 'sonic' in nature, which none of the spells you picked are.

I looked up the cost for a familiar (it's under Sorcerer but applies to Wizards). Materials cost 100gp and it takes 24 hours. If you cannot fit it into your budget at start keep that in mind for later.

Okay, thanks for the information about the metamagic feats and the familiar. Grufflehead, I was forgetting the feat each character gets at level 3, so thanks for reminding me.

I think my character sheet's done, then. I'll try to move things to excel and post it some time today or tomorrow. I've never really used excel before, so I'm not sure how long it will take.
