[sblock=ooc stuff]First up, is everyone OK with twilsemail’s watch schedule?

Everyone gets an extended rest, and everyone except Kane levels up to 2. There’s going to be a lot of info dump during the night and the next morning. I figure that’s a good thing to have happen while you’re leveling up characters.

A few notes for those who are relatively new to L4W:

Your character sheet should have links (in the Tracking section) to the treasure and XP awards you receive. (Wait for the judge to approve the rewards and then link to the approval post.) Likewise, if you spend money to buy something, mention it in a post and place a link to it on your sheet.

The effects of magic items should be detailed somewhere on your sheet. The summary template sort of supports items if you want to write them up like powers (this is my personal preference). See my sheet for Scarmiglione for examples of magic items formatted in the summary. You can instead put them in a list as Ben does here with Kaeysari.

You don’t need to send your character in for approval after leveling (it’s only necessary to do this at the end of the adventure, before you change DMs).

If you’re on your first character and leveled up to 2, you’re eligible to generate a second character.

About time gold:

As there aren’t any shops on Smuggler’s Shiv (oops, was that a spoiler?), you can’t realistically spend your money. I think that it’s probably best if we keep Time Gold as an abstraction; if you want to buy healing potions or something, let me know and I’ll have your character find it. You can then deduct the gold, which never had a concrete existence anyway.[/sblock]

OOC: Approved. Wait...there's another Kane? I believe in the immortal words of Highlander, there can only be one....per tier, so I think you're ok ;)

OOC: Thanks for the approval and congrats on paragon!!!

Our Kane is Kane Arcane. Your Kane just needs to become Kane Primal.

Everyone, remember to link to the above post on your sheet for tracking purposes.

Castile takes the offered cup and stares at its contents. She sniffs at it hesitatingly and then looks back to Dartmoor.

"It is... uh... much appreciated." She's sure he wouldn't try to poison her, after all. Not intentionally. She looks again at the brew, sighs, and then drinks it all in one swig. Castile is expecting some horrific tasting concoction, but it isn't really too bad; the drink has kind of a thick, tasteless quality to it.

"Heh, well that wasn't too bad. I don't believe I feel much different, but thank you again for the drink." Castile hands the cup back to the pict, almost knocking him over as she pushes it forcefully into his hands.

GM: Ok, had a look over the characters. Black Fox and Dartmoor Irregulars look good.

Dekana - Castile's basic attacks in the summary should be +8 vs AC rather than +7.

Pentius - Noriaki's AC should be 19 in the summary. The properties of the battle harness need to be described somewhere. And Noriaki still lacks a level 2 utility.

GROMkill - Taka's surge value should be 8 in the summary. Harlequin Style should also be listed in the summary (and it would be a good idea to add its effects to the Brash Assault power). Your Fort, Reflex, and Will need to be adjusted for the cloak (both in the summary and the math section). And the cloak of resistance needs to have its properties written up somewhere.

OOC: Mewness I fixed the errors. Sorry, I had started to level him up, and didn't finish, I guess. I believe we are all good to go now :)

The pict nods to the captain, saying he's fairly sure the mix worked. The Captain himself nods, satisfied. "Thank you for your trust."

He turns to face the camp at large. "So," he claps his hands together eagerly as he says to no one and everyone. "Who else saw the dragon last night? I'm willing to be it's a green, judging by the foliage of the trees... But it may have been a black. They spit hot tar, right?"

Kane's head snaps around at the mention of a dragon. His coin spins into the air.

"D-dragon? Sh-sure it was a dragon? I saw a n-nest up in the c-cliffs to the n-north west. Big r-reptilian f-flying creature, t-to be sure. C-couldn't s-say it was a d-dragon though. I s-stayed well away. S-seems to fit though."

OOC: I’m not sure how long people want to spend at sword practice, military drills, breakfast, etc. OK to assume that the group gets moving at, say, 7:30 am?

Ishirou receives the news that he is to accompany the group with his usual calm, but prepares for the journey so quickly that he is a long time waiting while it gets underway. Dartmoor’s mention of a dragon causes a little stir: Gelik and Jade react with some consternation, Aerys looks skeptical, and Sasha seems a bit irritated that she didn’t get to see it.

When they are satisfied with their breakfast, sword practice, and other morning rituals, the adventurers make their way east through the thick vegetation. The ground slopes gently down as they go, and presently they emerge from the jungle to find themselves not far from the edge of the island’s high, rocky coast.

About a mile to the north, a little way off the coast, there is a large, rocky outcropping. It looks to be too wide and flat to be one of those depicted on Kane’s “Shiv East” map. Not far from this rock, smashed against the coastal cliff, is a wrecked ship.

[sblock=Perception 20 (active only)]It is hard to discern much detail at this distance, but this wreck looks to very old and decrepit--too old to be the Nightvoice.[/sblock]

To the south and below the adventurers’ position is a small, sheltered beach, not unlike the one they awoke on. To get to the beach and continue further south requires climbing down the rocks. It looks like a tricky climb, time-consuming but probably not too dangerous.

[sblock=Perception 18 (active or passive)]On the beach below you spot a small, blood-red object. You can’t tell what it is at this distance, but the color stands out from its surroundings.[/sblock]

The coast continues further to the south, still rocky but not as high as before. You make out more rocky outcroppings in the distance.

GM: I updated the map on the first page of the thread. The outcroppings off the coast to the south are not shown but there are quite a few.
