Are the Warforged underpowered?

Just for the record, warforged are not immune to nonlethal damage. Henry's story is a cool one, but by the RAW, a warforged can't pull it off.
Eh, it's a tough call. If you follow the 'hustle' rules, someone hustling for 72 hours would take 2^72 - 2 points of nonlethal damage (2^71 + 2^70.... + 2^1), but of course they'd probably pass out somewhere between hour 4 and hour 10, depending on class and level.

On the other hand, the rules for 'hustle' come in to play for a character that hustles more than one hour 'between sleep cycles'. Warforged don't sleep, and they don't even have a recuperative phase comparable to sleep (the way, say, elves do). Thus, I could definitely see the argument that, lacking sleep cycles, a warforged can't do anything 'between sleep cycles' and that the hustle rules don't apply to it.

I didn't ask what the acronym meant, I just wonder why suddenly it's being tossed around all over the place. It's as if suddenly someone decided everyone needed a new acronym, and I've seen it in nearly half a dozen threads, just tossed in without any explanation.

I know you didn't; I was responding to Vecna. It is funny how it's popping up all over the place (almost typed "pooping," which could be close to the same thing, depending at how fond you are of the acronym).

They're not? <flips through book> doh! Well, so much for that.

No sleep? Theres the watchman. THats the biggest one.
Elves get that too.

I've yet to really see this as a big advantage. It just means you don't need to write out the bloody watch order every night (ie - it cuts down on bookkeeping).
No breathing? Here's your swim buddy.
Given that so few characters can swim anyway, most water-hazards are avoided en mass.
No eating means no starvation problems and that much more food for the living members of the party.
Food in D&D is basically a non-problem. A DC 10 survival roll finds you food in any natural environment, purify food and drink and create water are 0 level spells, and create food and water is only a 3rd level spell.

OTOH, never being able to benefit from a heroes feast could be a pretty bad downside.
