BattleStar Galactica:Season 3.0--11/03/06--Arc 5

That would be an hilarious episode if they brought that virus-device on board. Assuming they knew what it was they would run around with on all the ships and watch Cylons drop like flies. But I suspect that there aren't any more Cylons on the ships and that the last five are something quite different. But that's just a hunch. One that will probably be disproved very soon.

I wonder what a hybrid goes through when she's in combat.

And I know I'm a bit late with this, but regarding the 2 part mini series: The scene at the end where the ships leave the ammunition depot, Starbuck and Apollo are the last ones in the sky. The commander then contacts Starbuck and says: "Goodmorning Starbuck, what do you hear?" To which she smilingly replies: "Nothing but the rain." As bits of metal hit her cockpit.

Is there some kind of underlying meaning I'm missing here?

I thought it was odd how the cylons believed the colonists set a trap for them ... they really don't know as much as they'd like or want to.

The style to BSG so far has been one of "truth" in terms of how events unfold and "documentary" in terms of camera style. All the jerky hand held camera movements which are very much a signature style in BSG are there to enhance this "real" feeling in the show.

But Torn wasn't like that at all. It was a very surreal style throughout and I think it sticks out like a sore thumb in the series. Simply put: Battlestar Galactica (the series) is not like Torn (the episode) at all.
As Mustrum_Ridcully pointed out, it seems to have been an effect to convey the experience of being on a cylon basestar; you're getting the POV they experience as opposed to the "realistic" camera work in the human world. The change in editing/camera style was done purposefully (and, IMHO, effectively), and didn't seem to be a just a "let's do something artsy" thing for the sake of change.

And a better question has to be asked.

Why in the blue blazes, they need a 'new home'...now? (Meaning Cylons)

What the frak happened on their own home planet.

They go over the same routine much earlier in the miniseries, only, you know, not in combat.

I personally inferred that it was some kind of poem/part of a song which they both knew, possibly the origin of her callsign, but that's just my take on it. I'm sure it's been discussed in more detail somewhere.

Makes you wonder where they are going with all of this though. Is Earth the 13th Colony - or are the colonies the colonies and Earth the original human howeworld? (that would seem intuitive).

Such that finding Earth might be a ruin - or finding Earth as it might be 3500 years from now - a civilization VASTLY more advanced than the Colonies (or the Cylons now).

That's my pet scenario. That at/near Earth there's a thriving human society (or more than one), quite capable of swatting the Cylons like bugs... and not particularly interested in taking in 50,000 refugees with their nasty neighbors chasing them. Dropping in on a war between multi-system human empires would be fun...

Sal and Kara...

As I rewatched their moments...the theme of the light and dark, dance in my mind.

Sal--with the loss, betrayal of his wife. His world is shattered, there is no on left he go to(no family known). His hidie hole, the bottle. His shield, his bitterness on how everything has went. Honestly, I remembered one time, when he was like this, he said to Adama, "It was better that he was never called upon, back into military service" (not the exact quote, just referencing). His flippant behavior on the bridge, towards others, especially Helo and wife. The pilots...anything was fair game to him. To vent his bitterness.

Now with the latest splat with his old and dearest friend, Adama...has he burned all the bridges? Is there any chance of his returning from that dark place, where we should not go?

Will Adama abandon him, knowing full well how Sal is, with his 'falls'. With 5 shows left, it will be interesting to see, what will come.

And now...Kara, carries a baggage of guilt, a parasec wide, in my opinion. From Zack's death, the relations with Lee, and her current and now former husband. No need to get inwrap with all her history. Let's deal, with her possible return, of being a human being, and not being a slug, crawling through sewage.

The Mind Frak done to her, did its job, but no completely, but heck, the Cylons know, she is the all around top notch in your face fighter. Great at many things, physical, but not on the mental. They found her chink in the armor, and exploited it. Wounded badly, she swirls with all the fury of pain and frustation at a attack, she cannot defend or fight back against. And she loves doing that part alone (the fighting part). Now...after the 'talk' with her 'dad'.

Has she come to the realization, that now, she has a exposed crack, in her suppose to be, invulnerable armor. And it is a wound, that now will never close. And she now, seeking support to 'protect' that spot, from little "Casey"

Was it the job of the act, to show that she is not fully shielded, as once though.
Or, as said before, was the Cylon way of cracking the resolve of the one best fighters in the survivor fleet.

Yeah, there is more questions, and not enough answers, yet.

But given to the fact, that Kara has sought out, 'help', on her own. Shows, she is beginning understand her 'frailties'.

As for Sal, he has known his, for quiet some time, and it didn't bother him, cause, there was someone personally, to share it with. Now that person is gone.

And they(his frailties) are smothering him...slowly, Will he find the strength, to rise...or just let himself, keep on sinking.

One was forced to finally recognized their's.

The other's are beginning to suffocate, from the years of waiting in the wings.

Frakkin' frak, is all I have to say.

I've realized that I watch the show for Sharon and her storyline. When she's involved, I dig the story. When it's focusing on political machinations, Starbuck sex, or Tigh being a lunatic, I don't enjoy it as much. Oh, okay, Dr. Baltar is almost always awesome.

Yeah, I've always liked her Storyline. Was sad when she wasn't much of a presence for a while, but it looks like she's at least partly in again and should eventually play a bigger role when they find her child alive.
