D&D General Bought a brick of the 50th Anniversary minis :(

Hrm - I like random boosters for Minis - if I don't know what's in the set. The moment I know the 50 minis, that are supposed to be in there, I loose interest.

But I also open a box and make an encounter or adventure out of the content. That's a fun thing to do .

If I need certain Minis for an adventure I buy them directly.

This thread had me measuring my old hutch near the gaming table for 2 replacement Billy book shelves for all my gaming needs at my finger tips…thanks for the heads up on those as I missed them for gaming use.

A wee bit of thread resurrection. I purchased a brick of the 50th Anniversary right after Christmas. This was part of the second batch wizkids made after the first batch sold out this past fall. I don't mean to rub it in at all, but I opened the boosters one after another. I got all 10 chase figures and 6 rares. I think that is God telling me not to buy anymore blind boxes of minis.

Or Rgard is a wizkids mole trying to get us all to buy another brick for those chase and rates grats an that as I bought 2 and didn’t get them all but I was t expecting to on the chase ones. Bought a few off the sellers on eBay but still can’t pull the trigger on venger, green knight or red box fighter at the current prices.

I work for a public utility, but I guess I could be a mole for some minis. Full disclosure, I did buy a brick from an eBay seller last fall and got the Uni and Sheila, but Shelia was missing an arm. I returned her to wizkids and they sent a replacement when they got their second batch of these in. Yep, really sounding like a wizkids mole now. In all seriousness they were great in getting that sorted out for me.

Through both bricks I still didn't get the 1e Elf. Off to eBay for that one.

WotC doesn't make minis, you should direct your ire at Wizkids in this case.

Yeah, this is standard procedure for Heroclix at least. Popular subgroups tend to be chases.

I just don’t think it is usually worth it. The singles market for me is the way to go usually.

I feel some differently when a place has a buy back program…even still I like buying singles. You know what you are getting and only buy what you want..

Being a loong-time Heroclix player, I can attest to this. You are almost always better off buying on the singles market.

BTW, does anybody know if they sell a red dragon that is based on the red box (Mentzer) red dragon? I know of the red dragon that is based on the art of the Holmes basic rules.
