[Velmont]

"I could almost think I'm home... Hi, my name is Kharas Mroranon. I'm a dwarf. I'm a trapmaker and an armorsmith. I'm here because I would need your help. i would like to know how much worth my piece of Thelanium... it is now raw Thelanium, but an alloy made with it." Kharas take out the piece of Thelanium and show it to the blacksmith.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*The blacksmith takes a look.*

"My standard fee for appraisal is 2% of the value of the item to be appraised. Is that okay?"

 

[Velmont]

"Hmmm... well... I got a problem here I think. You see, has you can guess, I'm not from this city, and the currency I have is no legal here. From where I come, we use gold, silver and copper pieces. Do you use any of these material in your work? I could pay you with it. It's just I would like to keep as much of this material, I would liek to use it to build a small construct sometimes soon. I still need a bit of training as na artificer, but I should be able to do one sometimes near, and I can hardly come back here by then to get some, as I don't know how I first reach this place and how I'll be able to leave it." expalins Kharas. "Oh well, I must sound crazy..."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"An artiwhatzit? Do you not have a job to make some money? Well, I can just take the 2% appraisal out of these parts by taking 2% of what you have here, if you like."

 

[Velmont]

"Yes, I have a job, I have plenty, and I'm paid for it, but in gold pieces, as it is the currency of my world. I don't have any thelii and without it here, I'm kind poor... do anyone have some use for gold here? Maybe a jeweler. I would rather exchange gold for thelii rather than that piece of Telinium."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"You might be able to exchange gold for thelii with a jeweler, I guess," the smith shrugs.

 

[Velmont]

"Where is the nearest jeweler?" asks Kharas.

 

[Rystil Arden]

*The smith gives Kharas directions and then shoos the dwarf out so he can work.*

*Kharas finds the jeweler's shop fairly easily.*

"Ah, you want to sell me gold for thelii. Let me see there," he inspects some gold pieces, "I think I can give you an even exchange for these things--so 100 of these gold disks for 100 thelii."

 

[Velmont]

"What? Is gold worth so less here? With that currency, I can buy a nice meal and sleep very well for one gold piece. You offer me 100 times less. How much do you sell a ring made of gold? 10 thelii?" asks Kharas, amazed of the poor value of gold in this world.

 

[Rystil Arden]

"For those who like jewelry, a nice bejeweled golden ring can cost hundreds of thousands of thelii depending on the jewel, though it is of course less valuable than a thelanium ring with the same jewel arrangement, though some like the offset of the gold with certain jewels. It also depends on the quality of the gold, the intricacy of the craftmanship, and other factors. A ring made just of gold? I don't think anyone would ever want to wear something like that. If they did, though, it would only be perhaps a thousand thelii."
