Legend
Dellrak, Miss Imogen, & Kasqa

Dellrak rushed forward, axe in hand, but his vision was blurred and he felt his head swim. It was as bad as after a night of drinking his grandfather's mead. "But yet I've nae had the joy o' the drink" he thought as he stumbled over a root.

The beast took advantage of the moment to strike - it leapt into the air, and Dellrak saw the fiendish toe-claws. Then Miss Imogen's arrow struck the beast and it stumbled sideways. She had fired four arrows but Dellrak had not seen the other three as they disappeared into the grass and he did not see the disappointment she felt; nor did he notice the way her hands shook as she shivered, freezing in the Chultan heat.

The dwarf was ready to defend himself, holding his axe between himself and the jaws of the beast. Then Kasqa threw one of his three spears into the beast and it fell on its side. Dellrak heard a chirping noise and he saw a smaller, younger version of the creature moving through the grass behind its fallen parent.

Legend
Rodrigo, Weed, Qawasha, & Tarri

Rodrigo held his feet with some fancy footwork, stabbing his rapier again and again into the flesh of the beast. When it fell, he leapt over the body and ran through the grass, skewering the one mauling Wulf as well, though it held on, tearing at the half-elf with its claws.

Weed had completely disappeared into the tall grass so Qawasha turned his walking stick into a solid-looking club and stood by Tarri, swinging it back and forth yelling "Yaaah!" to fend off any of the creatures that might choose to attack her. She assured him that she could take care of herself and she waved a totem about, warding herself from harm.

The grass came alive with activity as it became apparent that there were far more of these creatures out there than it had first appeared.

Rodrigo glanced around. There were too many foes, and they were too spread out.

"FALL BACK! EVERYONE TOGETHER! TO THE DRUID!" He shouted

He turned to Wulf "you too, I'll cover you! Ware the gas! Go!" He turned to the raptor in front of them, waited for Wulf to start backing off, and then unleashed a moulinet.

Action: He brought his blade crashing down on the beast's head. As it flinched back he tried again for the knee

edit: I forgot to link the attack roll! sorry about that: round 2, attack on raptor before withdrawl: 1D20+5+1D4 = [13]+5+[3] = 21

2nd round attack on raptor, maneuver dice : 1D8+5+1D8 = [1]+5+[1] = 7

Raptor must make DC 13 strength save or fall.

Move: fall back to centre after Wulf, watching out for gas, keeping himself between Wulf and the raptor (ie he's trying to still be part of the front line, not going for the center of the circle).

Reaction: This will probably trigger attack of opportunity from raptor. Riposte or Parry

Afternoon
Round 2

“Ta, lass, lad,” Dellrak said with a salute to Miss Imogen and Kasqa for the save. Then he heard a chirping sound and looked over into the grass.

“Malar’s meatstick!” Dellrak grumbled. “‘Tis a bluidy nest!” Dellrak steadied his axe and rushed at the next raptor.

And he still couldn’t land a blow.

[SBLOCK=If L8 is still alive after Rodrigo's attack]Hearing Rodrigo, Chrysagon calmly draws one of his javelin, aims for a couple of second and throw it at the Raptor. With a spear through the throat, it would be more difficult for the lizard to run after them. Then he moves to protect the right flank.

Coughing and spluttering, Harb stumbles out of the gas, looking around with teary eyes. He notices a head poking out of the grass and bends over in another coughing fit as a show of weakness to draw the creature to him. He was in fact preparing to defend himself from the creature's bite.
