OOC: Oh well, works for me. Mord doesn't 'need' a rest, but he hasn't been touched. He'll happily take first watch. And cast guidance for an extra 1d4 on any out of combat skill checks.

Time to move on. SnorLoska puts the vial back in the backpack. That power nap was good but I need more, he thinks. Still, the big boy gather his gear and jumps down the grate and move through the drain and follow the others. Udit stays back and fiddles with the grate. Soon SnorLoska exit the drain and looks out over what looks like an underground lake in a large cave. Where to now? he asks the genasi sisters.

OOC: We seem to have lost some momentum withbthe join-up, so I am going to move along to try to get some of it back.

Location: Upper Lake Pre-Dawn

The underground lake shore was a hard, damp, cold, and noisy place to spend a night. The sound of the waterfalls echoed so loudly through the dark chamber that no sound of danger could possibly be heard, and it seemed safest to camp with no light, no fire, so most of the group could also not see. This made watches dependant on a very few, and the whole event to test the nerve of the bravest. But one by one, the group began to stir, and the disquiet of the night was replaced by a new foreboding: Somewhere in the lower lake, not far away, was a hydra. And you would face it soon.

GM: Take a long rest and check-in here with some fluff about how your character(s) feel about all that, so I know you are on board, and we will move along asap.

The three Genasi siblings slept well. None had darkvision, so none could help with the watch. Aquaria was close to figuring out how to open her senses, and was sharing her findings with her siblings. Perhaps soon, they would find the darkness was no longer an obstacle.

Once they had rested, they sat together and wondered about their brother, Pyrus. They were nervous. Water didn't scare them, either of them, as all three could survive underwater indefinitely, and Terrus and Aquaria could adapt, or were already adapted, to underwater environments. But they were the only ones. Against the Decapus, it had almost gotten the sisters. They would need a way to get to the creature so everyone could help.

All in all, they were calm. They had survived much together. They would survive this.

The moment they were through the grate, Mord let all illusion fall and was his usual dark and moody self. He felt more at home in the darkness and the loud noises of the waterfalls actually served as a form of silence for him and thus he took the first shift of watch and then slept quite well afterwards.

Kurzon felt rested, "What do we actually know about hydra's people, do we need any special preparation?"

As he talks he starts to put on his armour, carefully attaching each part as it in a ritual.

After nursing his wounds, SnorLoska made himself as comfortable as possible on the muddy shore of the underground lake. He fell asleep immediately and was only awake for his turn of the watch.
Fully rested, SnorLoska tended his gear as a sharp axe is very important. He broke his fast with the others and now he felt really good. Time to take on the hydra. I think we should try to lure the hydra out of the water onto the shore. We are all better fighters on the ground than under water. What do you think? he asks, oblivious of Aquaria's water affinity.

"Speak for yourself," Aquaria said. "Me and my brother can fight under water just as well as on land."

Taken aback by Aquaria's outburst, SnorLoska humphs. Well, you and your brother can go down and fight the hydra on your own then!
He then looks at Aquaria's small figure and apologetically says Maybe you two could go down and tease the beast to come out of the water and then the rest of us can join in?

Udit munched on a ration - the place was dismal, but he'd been in worse.

(OOC: I thought there were four mystic, where is the fourth?)

He then spoke up: "The two sisters, are, uh, really really good under water. Amazing. BUT... SnorLoska's right, it's better if we can all fight it together. Unless of course you think you can snatch the idol from under its nose?"

He continued: "I know very little about Hydras - big giant lizard like monsters with many heads - BUT... maybe our boss does"

Udit took out the sending stone. "Hello oh mighty wizard? We have to grab an idol from a lake with a Hydra... what can you tell us about hydras? Strengths, weaknesses that sort of things"
