For those interested, a bit of an update on the tourney:

My local gaming group is not very consistant any more, so I don't think I will be able to get an Immortal's game, such as the tourney idea, going at this time.

I was thinking about trying to run it as a Play-by-Post game, since a player of mine said it could work.

I'll confer with my group to see if that is what they want to do.

Assuming the Play-by-Post thing is a go, as it is only an idea as of now; I may have one or two openings for players. (I don't think it will work with more than 4 or 5 players, and I know at least one of my local group will be "in")

Once I get the details, I'll post 'em here. (I'll probably start some new topic or such) I will also try to post the details on the Dicefreaks board. (Since they like epic level play, and epic level games are hard to come by)

No plans set in stone as of yet, but consider this the heads up. If the game works out, it probably won't start until Ch 4 is finished. (and hopefully Ch 3, though if it isn't I may just keep the Portfolio rules out this time around. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it)

Hi guys! :)

Does anyone know what the heck is going on with regards the ENWorld gamestore merger thing?

I can't find Ascension anywhere. I'm wondering if they have removed it because its unfinished?

EDIT: Okay its still there, just not at the new gamestore which seems RPGNow centric.

Sorry if I scared anyone. :o

I would just like to chime in and say that I'm most interested in the low epic range- to 50th or maybe 100th level. Not a power-gamer's guide to playing demiurges. The chapter on feats is what I am finding most valuable, and what I look to first when there's an update. Next is portfolios, which hasn't been receiving enough design attention imho.

I can understand that higher level abilities have to roughed out so that the lower abilities will scale properly, but I urge restraint; the basics should have higher priority.

It's on my bookshelf at least. Dunno about anyone else's.

If you do run the play-by-post tournament, either here or at DF, Ltheb, I'd love to fill any open spots. :D

Heh. Only in U_K's work could level 100 be considered "low epic."

Hiya mate! :)

What did you decide on for the order of the Weapon Focus/Specialization chain?

I currently have the following, whether I will change things I don't know?

1. Perfect Weapon Focus: BAB increases at core rule rate (e.g. 30th-level Fighter would have BAB +30)
2. Uncanny Weapon Focus: Always use your highest BAB for iterative attacks
3. Unearthly Weapon Focus: Only require touch attacks to hit (replaces Legendary Warrior)
4. Ultimate Weapon Focus: Always hit...period

1. Perfect Weapon Specialization: Deal Maximum Damage
2. Uncanny Weapon Specialization: Always apply virtual size categories to manufactured weapons
3. Unearthly Weapon Specialization: Base damage equals critical hit damage...then apply critical hits.
4. Ultimate Weapon Specialization: Gain one attack/5 BAB

I am sort of wondering if I should replace Ultimate Weapon Spec with something else (though I can't think what). As it seems more to do with the number of attacks than actual damage.

You could have an ability chain (changing your number of attacks) with the following:

1. Perfect (Quickness)
2. Uncanny (Mercurial)
3. Unearthly (Counterstrike)
4. Ultimate (Transattack Period)

One other problem is that I recalculated Orichalcum Body and Neutronium Body.

Orichalcum Body was moved up to Transcendental (and Neutronium to Omnific).

Orichalcum Body allows you to multiply your base damage by x192! Neutronium Body multiplies your base damage by x32,768...so at that point you are getting into crazy territory, although its still technically eclipsed by Infinite Strength.

High-epic, but low-cosmic. He's saying he's interested in epic, but not cosmic play. Which makes sense... get used to what the epic (low, mid, high epic levels) is like before blowing that away...
