(OOC) The Dog Days of Doom

I have said that Stratus worships "the Skyfather" but who that is depends on the pantheon. Are we on an established world or a hodgepodge?

The "You are here sign is a little vague on the map. The inn is the gray building on the right of the gate?

I suggest that we circle clockwise to the half circle and then beeline for the market, rather than go straight there from the gates.

A grasshopper (so Anson Willoughby can cast the Jump spell he knows, holding on to its dessicated legs).
Did you just pick up Jump when you levelled? If you've had it since 1st, then you have as many castings as you want. Otherwise, You can find a grasshopper in the backyard of the Inn...if you want to brave the zombie chickens...

Seriously, though, give yourself a few castings of Jump.

I'm using Greyhawk gods: Pelor, Kord, Kyuss, WeeJas etc.. Mostly because I"m used to them from 3.5 and also because I'm tired of Forgotten Realms...

The details on that map are super vague for a reason. Because it isn't at all accurate. You are in a random building next to the gate and there's a main throroughfare that leads to the market and the fort/temple.

That's the only accurate thing. Other than that, the buildings are a lot more dense and tiered up because the whole city goes up a hill. It holds about 3000 people.

Edit: I imagined you to be on the right side of the main thoroughfare - so the first building to the SE of the gates

Yes -- he has Magic Initiate (Druid), and it seemed the most appropriate spell, especially for where I plan to take him (later to be coded as a psi-assisted leap, but I still need the spell component).

So this is the route that Oscar the innkeeper suggested. Circumnavigating along the walls brings you to a narrower, windier thoroughfare on the East side that will take you above the market to the guard entrance. It would avoid most problems but also avoids the market and you would have a trickier time getting to where you want to go inside the market.

Cutting early to the market is going to require some navigating because of the tiered nature of the town.

Are you guys wanting to avoid detection?

I was thinking a stealth roll, a navigation roll (like survival or history to remember the layout), at the very least and 3 other rolls - everyone make a different roll and tell me how that skill helps you get to the market.

You would need 3 successes at minimum to get there without many issues.

As I said, the buildings are very close together so using the rooftops is not out of the question for parts of the journey which would require athletics/acrobatic checks.

An appropriate spell can be considered an automatic success if narratively, it takes the place of a skill.
