(OOC) The Dog Days of Doom

@TaranTheWanderer

Trying to remember- I can't do it this round, but can Caer use Druidcraft to reduce the lighting time of the Brazier by one round? Druidcraft is an action, but that might be worth it next round if that's the case. Or did I miss someone else already doing something similar?
The max rounds is 4 and this is the 3rd round so it may not be worth doing next round, even if I rolled max.

If I rolled 3 rounds, it will go off this round. If I rolled 4 then having Druidcraft or having Benny use his sticks will guarantee it goes off this round.

I thought about it, but knowing there are more ahead of us, I thought sav ing the dice was worthwhile (also, even if it lights in one round, we still need to get out of the room.).

I probably made a bad call for this beacon. Next one, depending on the circumstance, I plan on using a HD.

eh, given two people lighting you have more than 50/50 to light it in the first round anyhow
It is only worth it if single person is doing it and we're under pressure (as we will be apparently always :p )

@Snarf Zagyg
in this post I marked it as 45 minutes to nightfall.

Night is at 9pm, so it would be 8:15(you entered at 8pm) at this point in the adventure. So, technically, an additional 5 minutes would have passed (with the chatting about how to proceed into the cathedral and who will do what (and all the disagreements)) What I'll say is, when the combat is done, another 5 minutes will have passed and it will be 8:20.

Generally, searching takes anywhere from 5 (minimum) to 10 minutes depending on how thorough you're being. If you search every single coffin, carefully looking for secret doors in each, in this huge room, it could take up to a half-hour. I just kind of wing it depending on what you guys tell me you're doing.

A couple things:

1. There are still two zombies. Are you ignoring them and moving past them to
Statue?

2. What is the casting time on Find Familiar?

Edit: the casting time is 1 hour or, if you don’t have a spell slot, 1 hour+10 minutes as a ritual. It also costs 10 gp worth of incense that must be burned during the duration of the spell. Fortunately, you find some among the various components you found at the magic shop

I'll take one of them out.

Pact of the Chain allows you to cast it as an Action, without a spell slot. It's crazy, I know! You do, however, still need the incense.

Read the new description. Caer is a Foerestal, which is a reskinned guide- would that allow me to add proficiency to a check? This is a "permission, not forgiveness" question because it's similar, but Caer is pretty nature-focused, and not sure if applicable. LMK.

I don't think this is the case:

Pact of the Chain

You learn the Find Familiar spell and can cast it as a Magic action without expending a spell slot.
When you cast the spell, you choose one of the normal forms for your familiar or one of the following special forms...
According to Pact of the Chain, it's a "Magic Action"

Under "magic Action"

● Magic Action - When you take the Magic action, you cast a spell that has a casting time of an action or use a feature or magic item that requires a Magic action to be activated.

If you cast a spell that has a casting time of 1 minute or longer, you must take the Magic action on each turn of that casting, and you must maintain Concentration while you do so. If your Concentration is broken, the spell fails, but you don’t expend a spell slot. See also “Concentration.”
Emphasis mine. So, to me, that's them using the Magic Action every round for an hour. Edit: especially considering the material component is burning incense. I'm not sure how you can burn incense in a single 6-second action.

It totally does give you proficiency, which is why I mentioned it.
