D&D 5E (OOC) Vault of the Dracolich 5E (Full)

I just read it over. I can keep the blades out as much as I want, but I found out that the +2 bonus only lasts for 10 minutes, so that plan doesn't work. Subtract 2 from her attack and damage rolls this round.

Fradak Just a little timing issue to clear up: Because Lorenn goes late in the round, the Flesh Golem is going to chase Bob before you Boom it. You can chase it, but you'll run into Silakul's Spirit Guardians. (You'll also want to roll your flaming Sphere over). What would you like to do? (If you look to the last map, Bob will be behind Silakul near the bed, and the Flesh Golem will be above Silakul.)

Yup. Aquaria and Auraia, I believe. I have their Init, but nothing else.

But also me. It's been busy at work and at home AND I'm running three games here and one IRL and playing four here and one IRL and teaching a class. Do I sleep? Sometimes no. Right this very second I'm trying to finish a round for the Dispensables, and I need to walk the dog and my 10 year-old son wants me to play a video game with him and the wife wants me to make coffee.

So I'm not busy at all and I'll get those rounds up soon! ;P

There is such a thing as over committing.... I've had pretty bad luck with the games I joined collapsing (I even started a thread about it), but people said it was "normal" so I joined 3 more games thinking that this would increase my chances of one of them lasting...

aaaand all 3 are still going strong ha!

I know this is a campaign with a beginning, middle and end and that we are roughly halfway done, and I hope we do make it to the finish... once this is done it will give you a bit more spare time I hope :) We do appreciate it.

In other news...

Please tglassy don't take the following as a criticism, I don't know much about psionics in this edition but... I'm sure there is a good reason, but aquaria's "main" attack has a DC of 11. Now while this is an int save and that is a weak point for a lot of monsters, the DC is not good. What's the reason behind this character design?

(OOC) Vault of the Dracolich 5E (Open Recruitment)

She was design as a backup buffer. Inspire courage, inspire joy, Psionic Restoratin to heal. I also designed her to be more of a face among the four Genasi, thus the higher charisma. That's why I gave her the charm ability. I let Pyrus be the smart one.

What I'm learning is that most of what I want her to do costs Psi Points, and Psi Points are at a premium. So she winds up having to rely on her Cantrip equivalents. If I were to rewrite the character, I'd have her focus on Int rather than Cha, taking two Int points at level 4 rather than a feat. That would give her a current DC of 14, like Pyrus. Terrus and Auraia don't need as much Int. Their abilities are Str or Dex based. But while Auraia was supposed to be Cha based, she hasn't been playing that way, and really only one of her abilities wound up being Cha based.

I was just trying out different things with the different builds. I'm really putting the class through the ringer, figuring out what works and what doesn't.

Basically I've learned she is much more effective as a Psionic Combatant, using her mind to assault the enemy. If I could respec her, I'd make her an Awakened Mystic, switch Cha for Int, and drop Crown of Joy for Intellect Fortress or something similar. Makes her more of a powerhouse mentally.

If you are ok, I'll change it a little bit. The sphere follows the golem, it takes a bonus action by the way so Lorenn can't disengage this turn. He shot a firebolt to the golem and moves to K7 ( or anywhere with a visual on the golem and not to close of a door ;)).

New damages:
Firebolt: 2D10 = [2, 10] = 12

I hope we do make it to the finish.

This would only be the second game I've finished.

Oh, we will finish. If everyone dropped out other than one player, I would keep going. I draw the line at playing by myself, but I don't quit.

Perfect. This is how I will handle cases going forward when Initiative conflicts with post-as-soon-as-you-can.

I think that sometimes you have to build the class and run them to see how it works out. I rarely play rogues so Udit was a bit of an experiment. Sometimes hindsight is 20/20 and you realize that your anticipated party role isn't as needed as expected. I thought Udit would be doing more scouting, more trapfinding etc but he's more of a murderhobo than anything else at this point, I should have made him an assassin (although it doesn't quite match his personality).

Overall, what is your impression of the psionic classes?

Are there no cha-based attack psionic cantrips (or cantrip-equivalent?)

Not attacks. There's a charm cantrip like ability that's charisma based, but that's it. Everything else is Int.

I've found them to be incredibly versatile. The main downside is their psi points. They get about the same number of Psi points as wizards get spell slots, but there's so much versatility, you can blow through their Psi points extremely quickly, and they only recharge on a long rest. When there's only two or three encounters a day, that's fine. When we're going through an entire dungeon with only one long rest, not so much. Means I have to be picky on when to use spell points, cause I won't be getting them back.

Perhaps making them more like Warlocks, with fewer Psi points but regenerating on a short rest, would help a bit.

Other than that, they've been great.
